hi girls, i am going for my very 1st scan today. i'm paying for an early one, as i'm a bit neurotic about everything and i am desperate to know my little bean is growing big and strong.

i have every fear under the sun that i will get there and there be something wrong, i'm so anxious its untrue.

i just wondered if there was any advice at all? i heard i had to have a full bladder - now that might be tricky because i can not stop running to the loo!!!

    thanks ladies xx 9+6 xxx

Hi hun, I haven't been for an early one so I'm not sure, but for my 12 week one I was told by ladies on another forum to only drink a pint in the car on my way there. Otherwise you may be asked to half empty your bladder, which I'm not sure I could do!! This way I wasn't too uncomfortable, which was lucky as she poked me a bit with the probe to make the baby move! Have fun hun, it's a wonderful experience! I'll always remember hubby's face when the baby appeared on screen and seeing my little bean kicking! It made it all so real! Enjoy! x

I had a few early ones- the closest to you would have been 9+1

I tried to drink water but I was so sick I threw up a bunch of times waiting to in, and the scan was still clear. To be honest it was the same for my 6+6 scan, and it was still clear (and trans-abdominal. I thought as I had no water in me I would need a trans-vaginal)

Anyway, at 9+1 our daughter was a bean shape with a strong heartbeat. You won't believe the change when you go to your 12 week one!!

    Best of luck xx
