We have a Recarro young sport car seat but my 2 year old keeps pulling his arms out of the straps even though pull the harness tight. Does anyone know if you can get some extra straps or something to stop him from doing this?

Are you sure they are tight enough? My son did this once but it was because his straps were not tight enough (Daddy's fault of course). When I do it I can't see how they could be loose enough to do it? I also make sure he doesn't wear a coat etc in his seat as that can affect it.

You can get a strap that holds them closer together so they can't get their arms out but I cant remember what its called so not much help - sorry!

When big C was younger he used to escape regularly, I looked into getting a strap similar to the one WS mentioned from the US but I remember reading that these aren't recommended for use in the UK. Just found the info I must have read on the Houdini Stop site itself - www.houdinistop.co.uk/FAQs.aspx
Is it legal?
EU legislation states that car seats can not be sold with a chest strap or chest clip attached as it indicates that car seats should be able to be unfastened by a single red button. However, the Houdini Stop is an aftermarket product and is not illegal to buy, sell, or fasten to your own car seat. We have had confirmation from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe that it is not illegal. For further details please contact us.
I've seen this which I'll buy if C goes the same way his brother did! www.which.co.uk/.../5-point-plus-anti-escape-system
