Hi all, hope everyone and bumps are growing away nicely.

I'm fairly short and was a size 8 before becoming pregnant so have a very visable bump that sticks out quite a bit and only 31 weeks. Been suffering with SPD since 18 weeks which is getting more uncomfortable and worse as the weeks are passing by now. I'm still working full time 40 hours a week and plan too for as long as possible.

Just a bit of advice if anyone can help me.

At most of my appointments baby has been head down and i usually feel baby move in 2 particular places which seems to have mostly stayed the same so i'm sure he is still in this position. As he has got bigger and stronger he has been putting his (feet i think) under my right rib which as most of you that have experienced this can be very painful and uncomfortable. But i seem to be getting hurrendous pain in my back (ribs area) and just wandered if this was normal. Its not all the time and it doesn't seem to happen when my front rib hurts either. So thought i would just ask your advice.

I'm guessing its just one of those things i'll have to deal with now and try and get comfortable in the last few weeks that i have before he makes his arrival.

    Many thanks

sorry to hear you are in alot of discomfort. when is your next midwife appointment? sounds like he could be back to back. ive never actually experienced this but ive had a very close friend who was having the same pains and her baby was back to back!
regarding your spd, has your midwife referred you to see a physio to help you? if not mention it to her, a physio can help you to cope with the pain your in and show you the best postioins to get into when needed.
    hope all goes well.

im with yummy mummy, sounds b2b to me. Not fun i know, esp in labour.

If you can, (hard i know with SPD) then sit on dining chair backwards leaning on the back, or on all fours with your bum in the air or leaning and rocking on a birthing ball. Gravity will make baby "swing" round the right way as the back is heavier etc and you should feel better then.
I know i rly struggled with this due to SPD last time and ended up labouring a bit with him b2b.

This time baba is transverse (head in one hip, bum in the other) and has bn there for ages so the kicks are getting rly sore. I have bn told (by a friend) that the above applies to getting a transverse baby in right position too so i will try (SPD from 13 ks) to do it this time as im petrified of having a section.

    Anyway sorry i totally babbled.
Hope it works and am of some help

thanku for your replies. Didn't really think about him being b2b. Got midwife tomorrow so will speak to her and see what she suggests. WIll try out the birthing ball and the chair thing later when i get home. Its been horrendously painful this week and i've been beginning to think if this is how i feel with a little bit of back rib pain then how will i cope with labour pain. XX

Hi hun, I've had exactly the pains you have described and at my MW app a couple of days ago was told baby was b2b, I was told to rock my hips on my birthing ball but might also try the tips from ilovemyboys!

    Hope you feel better soon.
