Hi all how are you all doing? haven't seen many people post on here recently so thought it would be nice to have a catch up.
james is 3 months old today, where has time gone? He's still waking in the nights for a feed, every night I wonder if he will sleep through! He's going through a very clingy stage at the moment and will only settle with me and sometimes hubby. If anyone else wants to hold him he screams, and i mean screams, real tears and everything so finding that quite hard. I love the cuddles but just would love him to share them with other people too!
He's a happy little boy though and we have plenty of smiles and shrieks at home. Hes also fascinated by his hands.
He's a very windy baby though and is sick upto 2 hours after feeds sometimes. Also he arches his back and goes rigid when trying to wind him so going to speak To the HV on monday when he's weighed as in sure thats what wakes him at night sometimes and makes him a boy grumpy I the day.
hope you're all well xx

Hi MrsL, sounds like James is coming along fabulously. Hopefully his clingy stage will pass soon, in the meantime just enjoy the cuddles I guess. Olivia is very much a Velcro baby, she won't sleep in her crib yet so she's been sleeping in the biłg bed with me, I think I'll secretly be a little bit sad when she doesn't need my cuddles anymore. Sounds like J is in pain with his wind, hopefully the HV can suggest something to help.
Olivia was a month old on Thursday and is coming along fab! She is up 2lbs from her birth weight so now a chunky 11lbs, she eats all day long though so it's no surprise, she's even taken to rooting in her sleep lately so I've given her a few dreamfeeds, she's so cute! I'm absolutely loving every second, but probably because I've got no routine yet. I can't drive for two weeks yet so nowhere to be for a certain time, and H has been doing all the housework, so I literally just play and cuddle her all day. She is a very easy baby, so I know we are very lucky. She especially loves bath time so I've included a little photo.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hey you 2!
Still cant believe we are here! Mrs L I hope you get that full night sleep soon! Saffron Olivia is gorgeous.
As for us, Henry is now 6 weeks old. He has a good appetite and is putting on weight well. In the last couple of days he has become very chatty and is smiling more, which is lovely to see. He is very tall and has almost outgrown his 0-12 clothes. On the whole he is very chilled out and enjoys being out and about, especially in his pram.
I cant believe how much i've enjoyed the early weeks.

Saff - Olivia is gorgeous, James loved bath time at first but over the past couple of weeks he's changed his mind and now gets really upset when the time comes! James was in our bed for the first 4 weeks too but now settles in his Moses basket in his own room. We found the gro bags helped?
Rio - I hope you mean 0-1 month lol and not 12 ;) otherwise he's a big boy! The smilies are lovely aren't they!
JJ we've tried infacol, gripe water, sitting him upright everything but doesn't seem to work. I'm hoping we get prescribed infant gaviscon as I've read good things but we shall see! Glad to hear things are going well with you. James fights his sleep in the day too and always ends up napping on me. We're not always home in the day as I get cabin fever so when I am trying to put him down in his basket but takes a whole to settle him. He loves sleeping in the car or buggy though so take him out if he gets too ratty!
Heres a pic of my little dude at 3 months old yesterday sorry it's huge and I can't figure out how to rotate!

Hey Rio, I'm assuming you mean 0-1 month clothes, in which case Olivia is the same, we just went in to 0-3 months clothes yesterday! So glad you're enjoying it loads, I know what you mean about still not believing it. Olivia is very chilled out too, both a midwife and a HV have expressed surprise that she's my first, as apparently we are too laid back Long may it continue.
Glad to hear that thrush is improving JJ, you're doing fabulously for powering on through. Sounds like long walks in the pram are the way forward, I'm sure Max will fall in to his own napping pattern soon enough. Yeah, she loves it, just like mum. Can't wait to take her swimming, and planning to bath her in the big bath with me soon too.
MrsL, we've been using sleeping bags, but they don't seem to help any. We're planning to keep her in with is until at least the six month mark, as per SIDS guidelines. I think knowing I'm there she won't settle in the crib, so maybe she would settle better in her own room, but it's just not a move that I'd be happy to make. For the moment having her in bed is quite nice, but I'm hoping to gradually transition her to her crib, the fact that it's a co-sleeper should help as I can still hold her while she's in it. As for James, well he is simply gorgeous, such beautiful eyes!

Meant almost out of 0-12 week clothes at 6 weeks. James is a beaut!

Saffron we've had the same comment from the health profs funny enough. Def take her in the bath with you, we love it here! Although the big question is always is it mummy or daddy's turn!

Oh wow, so outgrowing his 0-3, Olivia just went in to hers the other night. It's lovely to hear, isn't it Rio? I think it's because we've decided to be very baby-led, and not bothered with things like monitors or apps. Sometimes too much knowledge can be a curse, with people keeping track of feeds and nappies and looking to apps to tell them what their baby should be doing, when each little one is unique. I felt that with TTC, with all my apps and my thermometer and my OPKs, I'm so glad I've been able to relax in terms of motherhood...being stressed is so exhausting!
I'm avoiding baths until my six week check, but will be sure to get straight in there once my section scar gets the all clear.

Haven't been on here for a while but my little boy Quade is now 3.5 weeks old. BF is going well now and he's finally back to his birth weight after the trouble we had with his tongue tie, still can't get rid of his thrush though buf I've managed to avoid it so far so fingers crossed that will continue. His three big brothers all adore him so he's getting lots of cuddles! He doesn't settle at night apart from in my bed But we've just bought a hammock so hoping he'll start to like that soon as it was a big success with his older brother. He'll sleep ok in the day as long as he's on his tummy which isnt great! I'm all recovered from my section now, it was great and apart from a small infection in the wound after my recovery has been good. My BP is still raised but hopefully will get sorted but I'm back driving now and busy with school runs etc.
loving having a newborn again but it's going far too quickly, trying to savour every minute with him being our last.

We are attempting our first classes today, a kind of all in one class this morning and baby sensory this afternoon - wahhhh!
16/02/2015 at 11:18
How are you doing JJ? When's the TT procedure? Well done on the classes S. We 're booked in for classes from March, still not ready to be organised in the mornings yet. All going well here. Henry is lovely and very smiley. He is really active and enjoys kicking about.

Classes were fab, but we are knackered, will stick to one a day in future I think. Early classes work really well as H took Olivia this morning and got her ready, while I got ready, before he left for work. What is it that fills you with dread JJ? Everyone is so focused on their own babies that nobody is really looking at you, it's fab!
