Thought I would start a little catch up thread to see how we are all getting on!
I am loving being a mum so far and after a horrible labour I never thought I could love something so much as this little bundle! I would like a bit more sleep - currently about 6 hours a night broken up but I can cope on that just about. I am lucky and have quite a few mummy friends so have been getting out and about ad am begining to think about going to some groups but can't decide what at the moment.
Still can't believe I am actually a mum!
How are you all doing?

We've had lots of ups and downs. Again a bad labour that took a while to get over as kept feeling like I failed. We had an awful first few weeks but d has been diagnosed with silent reflux and now on meds which are helping. We did have some good nights if 6 hours but then meds failed and it all feel apart so we have a new dosage. Just hoping we can get her back in basket sleeping again. I love cuddles with her but really need to get her to go down for naps and not just sleeping on us. She is already very alert and watches everything. She is smiling and is attempting to laugh which is funny as she can't make the sound to go with the action. She has also started grabbing things and hitting toys so she is learning things very quickly.

I too have been struggling to come to terms with a horrible 'labour' (labour itself was great but post-birth complications have been giving me greif). The last 4 or 5 days have been relatively good in that there have been no tears, which is a big thing as I was starting to question whether I had bonded with A, and H was starting to mention me talking to someone about my mood.
Most of my issues have been breastfeeding related, as she was making me incredibly sore and i was at my wits end. I've since got some nipple shields which have let me heal, and she's since been diagnosed with a posterior tongue-tie which got snipped this morning, so hoping we'll see some improvement in her feeding soon :) The rest of my issues have been dealing with my stitches and piles when going to the loo but that's a story for another day!
If you had asked me a week ago whether i was enjoying being a mum I probably would have mumbled an incoherent answer, but now I think I'm definately getting there!
(Will post a pic tomorrow when she's not attached to boob!)
