S is 7 weeks tomorrow. No routines as yet but a bit of a pattern forming.
She sleeps a decent amount in the day and bf's roughly every 3 hours though that does depend.
In the evening she flits between power napping and screaming until a last feed around 10 sometimes a bit later then we go up to bed and she will sleep for a few hours (we did have one 6.5 hour stretch but usually 3-4 hours). Some nights she won't settle at all some nights she will in her basket, we have ended up co-sleeping some nights to get some sleep. She wakes in the middle of the night, has a feed is hard to settle then spends the wee hours sleeping but screaming out every few minutes in her sleep which is really worrying, I never did this.
I feel like I have forgotten everything from first time. She is still tiny so just going with the flow but has anyone started more of a routine than we have yet?
I do remember starting a routine with I very early, pre 10 weeks she was being put down for the night with lots of shusshing whereas we just keep S with us until we go to bed and she is generally awake a lot more than I was (I think!).

E is 11 weeks and not really in a routine but tends to sleep around the same times each day. Night time i take her up at 9 and she feeds and is usually asleep by 10 she only goes about 4 hours before waking though. Longest we had was 5 1/2 and that was after her jabs!
I think all babies are different though so i try not to compare as it leads to worry.

A is 10 weeks and not much of a routine yet. She BFs about every 2 hours and has a couple of half hour naps during the day (different if we're out and about though as she sleeps the whole time we're out. She cluster feeds of ann evening and I take her up to bed about 9pm for a fairly mammoth feed, usually putting her down anywhere between 10 and 11. We're lucky in that she's a good sleeper and will usually go until 5 or 6 in the morning :)
I wouldn't worry too much, just go with the flow and she'll let you know if she needs/wants anything different :)

We had a routine, not a schedule. And every growth spurt changed the game, so go easy on yourselves. S was very much a Baby Whisperer Baby - in terms of Eat/Activity/Sleep cycles (even though her sleep was appalling). I think we only really got a groove going after the 4m GS tbh. But then M was different., totally chilled.
Letting your S lead is probably my best advice to you... she will let you know when she is ready for a 'routine'. Till then, just marshal your reserves...

My 3rd told me he wasn't one for routine! He did it in his own way!

I think I have my rose tinted spectacles on for #1 this all seems so new. I had pnd with #1 and a shoulder injury so was on all sorts of drugs so I guess I have just forgotten a lot.
Thanks ladies, I do remember being the smug one with #1 at baby meets with my amazing sleeper!

I found with # 2&3 there was a big chance in both of them after 12 weeks. Although O at 15 months has just started sleeping through or me

At 7 weeks we are still totally baby led but she has kind of fallen into a pattern.
Usually shes up for the day at 9am, feeds 3-4 hourly in the day, sleeping in between feeds apart from between midday and about 5pm when she's really awake. Then she feeds more like 2hourly between 5pm and 10pm, sleeping in between, and then does a mrga bedtime feed and a 6ish hour stretch asleep from about 11pm to 5am, feeds again and then sleeps for another 3hrs or so.
We are in the 6wk GS at the moment though and that means 2 hourly feeds & daytime sleep refusal, but I can't complain as she slept 10pm to 6am last night, fed twice between 6am and 7am and is now asleep again!

My little girl put herself in a routine at 6 weeks ish but would then keep mixing it up every few weeks. At six weeks she'd go down at 9 ish and we'd do a 2-3am feed then a 5-6am feed and she'd sleep until 9-10 ish. She'd nap lots during the day. She changed that around at 8 weeks and was having just the one feed around 4. But when the 12 week gs hit there was nothing predictable about E what so ever. One night we did a 9.30 bedtime and got up again for "the day" at 10.40pm!!
So with our number two I wouldn't bother trying to get them to do anything until after the gs and jabs (they played havoc too). Once the hell of the 12 week growth spurt was done however she dropped a "night feed" and went 9-5-6am. Then she would wake 8-9 for the day.
At 15 weeks she started going 9-9 and about 17 weeks decided 9 was too late so switched to a 7.30-7 30. However we have the odd lie in occasionally and we had a few pre 7am cries recently when the sun woke her but the black out blind works well now.
I should say we are totally baby led too. I don't see the point fighting my e to sleep because when she's ready she feeds and is flat out in the crib with no fuss. Perhaps I'm just taking the easy option! But it's working and as you can see was a graduatl stepped process by E.
