E has his 8 week jabs today. In your experience how did your babies react and what will be the best way to deal with them and pacify him during and after?

H has his last week.. He was a little grizzly during the day as it went on... He just needed lots of cuddles. I have him a dose of calpol at bedtime and he was fine the next day..I thi k they all react differently.. My friends baby didn't even cry when he has the injections.. Good luck!

N cried at the time but when we got home he just slept more. I think I gave him some calpol before bed.

He cried at the time, I think I BF him to settle him and then no reaction really just a bit sleepy in the afternoon. It's much worse for mum than it is for baby.

Screamed just after but only for a min or two. He was quite unsettled for the rest of the day and at night but fine the next day. We gave calpol as he kept letting out squeals and we think his legs hurt a bit.

P screamed for about a minute when she had them and then was fine. Her only reaction was to sleep a lot more in the following 48 hours.

M was fine, maybe a bit sleepier but that was it.

Rusty there are post vaccination guidelines on calpol now.  You can give 2.5 ml I think but only a couple of times in 24 hours or something rather than 4 hourly

Thanks ladies, very reassuring. We are leaving now to go to Drs and will pick up some calpol on way home. Currently E is smiling and squealing in delight, little does he know where we are about to go!

H was fine with re jabs but screamed inconsolably at teatime for 3hrs until calpol and tiredness got him to sleep. He seemed to have a bad reaction but this is unusual I think. Hope he's ok x

Rusty, you can get calpol that's ok for babies from 2 months, that's what we got for W. He screamed the place down when he got his jabs, and I bawled my eyes out as a result, but a good cuddle and he calmed down and fell asleep while we were still in the room. It's definately worse for mum than baby! W didn't have any side effects or reactions to it after and slept fine that night. Hope it goes ok for you and E this morning Ferbs! :-)
