I don't know how many of you remember (seems to be a lot of new faces) but my rainbow baby Henry had a bad start in scbu with a massive bleed in his brain. We were told he would have cerebral palsy and there was a 90% chance he would be in a wheelchair. The physio said he had a weak neck and back. It was an awfully dark time for me and also my H. We have to have regular follow ups to check his development and put in place any help he needs. Then we went through having to watch him in agony with what we thought was silent reflux but turns out he has a severe cows milk allergy. Luckily the milk issue has been sorted and he is thriving after a slow start gaining weight.
Well, we had a follow up at the hospital. The physio had a good look and play with him and watched what he can do. He can now sit unaided, a beautifully straight back. Brilliant head control, very strong. Has been rolling since 11 weeks which is just amazing given his prognosis. He isn't crawling yet but they're not too concerned at the minute as some 'normal' babies at 9 months aren't yet. He is very strong on his legs and his favourite thing is to bounce on your knee or on the floor. If you stop bouncing him he will bob up and down himself to tell you to carry on!
He did tiptoe when she stood him up which he doesn't usually at home i explained, so they're keen to keep an eye on that. It could be nothing, could be something. We just have to see how it plays out. So all in all he is surpassing everything that was expected of him already. I am so proud
