I love a good name thread
H and i have been discussing names. As with last time we find girls way harder than boys. Don't know the flavour yet but will be finding out in the next 2 weeks, which will at least mean we only have to think of one side!
So share your current favourites whether your're going to be needing them soon or just a name lover!
Our current lists...
Boys - Arthur or Theo. Love both and either will have Nicholas as a middle name after my dad.
Girls - Jemima, Matilda, Scarlett, Zara, Mary, Ivy, Phoebe. With goodness know what as a middle name!!

Lovely names AR. Love both the boys names and Mary is such a cute name for a girl. Reminds me of 3 men and a baby!
We narrowed the short list down to:
Girls - Eleanor, Ella, Charlotte and Holly
Boys - James, Ben, Oliver, Louis
Only annoyance is that the boys middle name will be Arthur and I don't know if I can bring myself to give the baby the same name as James Arthur who won x factor arghhh :(

Arthur is SUCH an awesome name though and how often will you say it out loud in full??
I love all your bboys names but 3 we can't have for family reasons and Louis is our surname spelt a different way! Hehe! Boys are so easy though!

Oo I do love Nicholas! OH vetoed it for us though. I loved Nicky as a shortening for a boy too. Arthur is fabulous, ours would have had Arthur as a middle name if we had gone with George.
Off your list I love Scarlett, Mary and Ivy.
Boys - George, Dominic, Sebastian, James (Jamie), Adam, Rory.
Girls - Rebecca, Kate, Catherine, Megan, Elizabeth (Libby), Meredith, Juliet, Beatrice, Elsie, Eve, Evelyn, Esme, Laura, Sarah.

Fab names chimp. Sebastian is my all time favourite ever boys name but it's also my brither in law annoyingly!!!
My name is on your girls list, good choice!!
Only thing that pus me off Ivy is that we have a Poppy and i'm not sure about 2 flower names.

H wants Matilda. I like it but dont love it but havent come up with anything better.

My favourite boy names when expecting O were Jacob, Joshua, Leo, and of course Oscar. He is Oscar Stanley.
Favourite girl ones were Amber Louise, Jessica, Emily, Phoebe.

Scarlett is lovely... 2 red names?!
Love both Arthur and Theo.
14/11/2013 at 19:55
Oo yes, Amber is lovely too! One of my faves but H is ginger so we crossed it off, along with Scarlett :/ Emily is lovely but my niece's name, also Annabelle but that is her sister's name.
I like April too.
Hmm I think Ivy goes with Poppy well, I have no problem with the two similar names. I think Rose or Lily would be different though.

AR - I really like Theo but we can't have it as we have a Theo in our family already.
LD - Do you think anyone will remember James Arthur in a few years?!
CK - Do you like Matilda shortened to Tilly? Could be a compromise!
Michy - I like Joshua too but H isn't having any of it.
At the moment we are thinking Rhys/Reece. I like it but not sure I love it. Although we are a bit stuck at the moment as H doesn't like any other names I suggest!!
At least we know the sex so know we definitely need a boys name (although I think girls are much easier!)
I like Amber but I teach several at the moment which puts me off.
I think two red names bothers me less than the two flowers
Oh I forgot to out Clara on the list.

We're hoping to not find out on Monday!
Our shortlist is:
Evelyn, Cecily, Olivia, Bess, Roberta
Edgar, Nathaniel, Wilfred, Edwin, Jasper, but I'm hoping to get Baxter promoted to shortlist too :)
It's REALLY difficult isn't it?!

With O our boys shortlist also included Arthur, Charlie, Alex and Stanley. These are literally the only names that family have not already chosen that we like, so if number 2 is a boy here we will be working from a very short list!
O would've been Ava had he been a girl. Other girls names I adore are Evelyn, Evangeline, Isobel, Bella, Faith, Grace, Charlotte, Martha, Genevieve. If it weren't for family names I'd also have Iris, Ruby, Bethany and Francesca on that list.

We're stuck on girls names but had loads of boys options...typically we're having a girl! I love Olivia but H doesn't. He likes Sophie which I kind of do, but I don't love it, I prefer Sophia.
I love Matilda AR.

We went through a couple of faves for a girl before we found out this is a boy.
We had Charlotte at one point and Melissa.
I also love Verity. OH like Felicity.
14/11/2013 at 20:54
Brodey, for boy or girl.
14/11/2013 at 22:02
I like Theo too for a boy, but one of my best friends has called her dog that and it seems a bit weird! I loved Ethan too, but it doesn't really work with our surname (but would have worked well with my maiden name!).
14/11/2013 at 22:10
I like Matilda and Delilah but H doesnt like either.
Really like Dexter for a boy!
14/11/2013 at 22:42
Boys: Reuben, Nathaniel (Nate), Raphael, Alexander (I really like Xander even though mine is an Alex), Xavier,
Girls: Scarlett, Juliette, Elisabeth (Beth), Georgiana/Georgia, Imogen (IIRC this was a close contender for Poppy?), Millicent (I totally adore this now, Missy or Milcie or other possible shortenings), Zara, Meredith, Mara
CK - I really like Matilda.

My favourites are probably too unusual but I also love Matilda, Harriet, Scarlett, Madeleine, Annabel, Tansy and Lilia.
