Honestly, don't worry.
As long as your baby bean is fine that's all that matters. Midwife has tried telling me I'm not eating enough as iv only put on 5lbs and I'm 22wks. By now i should have put on nearly a stone. I eat what i want when i want, always have done and will continue do so. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how much i ate, I didn't think it was possible.
Yesterday i had: 3 slices of toast, toasted tea cake, breakfast bar, 2 bag of crisp, sandwiches (6 slices of bread) for dinner, a bag of mini eggs, wispa, chicken wedges & salad for my tea, then sat and ate a bag of grapes. And i still was up at half 4 for something to eat.
As for the midwife, i would explain to her exactly how she made you feel... I am just about to change midwifes as iv moved (thank god)
As long as you are fine and your baby, then that's all that matters!! To me BMI is a load of s**t.
Good luck xx

I know when I see the midwife and get weighed etc she will tell me I'm over weight I expect, not something you want to hear when you're emotions are all over the place, not quite sure what bmi has to do with it all, as long as you are feeling ok and baby is doing well, then what the hell, some midwifes are nice and some don't think before they speak.

I had a bmi of 34 and my mw said anyone with a bmi over 30 is referred to a dietician/consultant......but at least she told me! Bad that yours didn't explain the procedure

My BMI was 30 when I got pregnant so I was sent for my GTT. Your mw should have told you about this. Sorry that you are having such a difficult time with her. There is a mw (complaints number) that you could contact who oversee mw. Will see if I can get hold of it for you if you want.
It's such a joyous time for you and emotional too that you just want someone there to support you.

Hi, I really wouldn't worry.
In terms of 'seeing a consultant' it's always an obs & gynae consultant that you would see, no matter what the issue in terms of kidneys etc. I have eczema and was referred to the consultant and it was an obs and gynae consultant.
However, your mdwife should have explained about the GTT and any concerns they had BMI wise...
You can always contact your midwife supervisor if you have concerns!
