We were thinking of a bbq and a beer tonight in the garden as it's one month today we got wed, and H has just come off a run of crappy (inconvenient) shifts.
H mentioned me having a glass of wine. Most of the stuff I've read says no more than 2 units 1-2 a week, but then a book I ordered arrived yesterday and it said z-e-r-o, ever, if preggo.
What do you do?

In the 1st tri I couldn't face it at all, but after that I had the very occasional glass of wine or beer - they seem to keep changing their minds about it all the time, but I think I'd do similar again unless there was very definite evidence of it causing problems. x

I didn't touch a drop in my last pregnancy. After a prem birth, then a miscarriage, I never wanted to do anything to jeopardise my pregnancy.
with my first, I drank a lot, but only because I didn't know I was pg until 16 weeks. Once I found out, I never touched it.

In my first pregnancy, the advice said 1-2 units once or twice a week, so that's what I went with and have done in both subsequent pregnancies as well, although it's been considerably less with #2 and #3 as I simply don't go out as often. It's a personal decision but I'm happy with my choice.

On the basis baby gets what I get I was t comfortable having any. But if guidelines say its safe then I'm sure a glass wouldn't actually do any harm

I haven't drank anything since before I started my IVF, I just daren't risk it. It's what ever you feel comfortable with though.

I didn't have any alcohol at all. I did live on Becks Blue though.

I don't drink anything.
The guidelines change so often I just think its best to stick with no alcohol.
It's entirely up to the individual but its just not something I do. If something went wrong I would always blame myself even if it had nothing to do with the alcohol.
I also don't drink anything if I'm driving either though. I'm only tiny and know alcohol affects me a lot more than some other people so don't want to risk it.
Plus I know if I have one i'll want more!!
I have been known to give everyone's drink a good sniff during this pregnancy as during the heat a nice cold rose or a beer would have gone down a treat
No none, I'd had a few losses and a baby with fetal abnormalities so I wasn't prepared to have anything at all. With L and W I couldn't have drank any way as was so sick all the way through, with I, I wasn't sick but was too terrified to do anything realky

Not a drop. Not a huge drinker anyway but after a prem and mc I wouldn't give myself any reasons to feel guilty should something happen again

I didn't until 2 weeks ago at my sisters wedding. I have an inch of prosecco in a glass at the hairdressers and then at 8pm added half an inch of white wine to my soda water. I was sick of J20 TBH.
Apart from that, when it's really hot or a BBQ and oh is having a bottle of beer I have the first sip out of the top as I love the taste and I have had alot of becks blue. They seem to sell it in alot of pubs round here.
I don't think any of the above really counts though.

The only alcohol I've had was literally a teeny sip of H's beer on Saturday and that was only because he wanted me to try it! I've never been someone who has the occasional glass so I haven't touched anything. I would feel too guilty if anything were to happen. The one time I did feel like I needed a drink during this pregnancy I went and got some amaretto ice cream instead which satisfied me just as much! haha
I had a Becks Blue Saturday evening. It was alright actually.

Nothing for me. Well actually that's a bit of a lie, when I was in early pregnancy with this one to try and avoid people at work catching on when out on client lunches I'd have a drop of wine with lots of lemonade in and just sipped it. Although a few times I did forget to sip and actually drank quite a bit. Nightmare!
I'll also have a cheeky sip of H's cider.
I couldn;t bring myself to just pour out and drink a glass of wine though. I don;t miss it that much, if at all really.
I'll have the odd glass here and there like I did last time but will avoid it for first tri. I'm another who drinks Becks blue if I fancy something. This time though H has given up with me (and lost almost a stone the jammy b) so the temptation isn't really there. I''ve not been interested in having anything anyway tbh

I had a glass of champagne on our wedding anniversary when I was about 30 weeks pregnant but apart from that it was a lot of Becks Blue and the non-alcoholic fruit ciders!

I had the odd glass of wine, prob only once or twice a month. Except on holiday in France when I had a small glass 3 times over the 9 days

No experience of pregnancy, but I often do dry spells for health/weight loss reasons.
There are a few nice non-alcoholic wines available in the supermarkets now, and I have had non-alcoholic Koppaberg (Mixed Fruits and Pear) and I can't taste the difference.

i have the odd glass now and again. i didnt drink anything in the first tri as i just didnt fancy it but 2nd tri when i felt ok i really missed it.
I remember all the non-alcoholic wines being rank, I might try again :)
