We've really struggled throughout the pregnancy to agree on boys names. My initial favourites (Sebastian, Oliver, Harry, Reuben, Caleb) were instantly vetoed by H, and I in turn vetoed most of his (which were verging on the ridiculous - he even suggested Sherlock and I still don't know if it was a wind up or not!)
We seem to have narrowed it down to just 2 names that we both really love, and so am 99% sure it will be those 2 for a boy but we're not sure which order yet - I want one way, and typically H wants the other (although for the past few days he's said my way is growing on him). A 3rd name we like, as a middle name only, is Charlie - so that's being held in reserve in case one of the favoured names don't suit!
Girls names are so much easier - in our house, anyway!
What boys names do you like?

I simply can't post the names we have our hearts set on, but we refer to our bun as Baxter, which - although intended as a joke name - I am warming to so much!
So the rest of them are:
We never found many boys names we both liked, so our quite short shortlist was:
Caleb - why has your H vetoed this, it's a fantastic name, suits my little boy so much!

I'm another that really likes Caleb! Mine won't suit many people as we like a lot of Scottish names.

Reuben was most likely to be our boys name. The only other one I'd suggested was Nathaniel. H like Raphael, which did grow on me.
We have an Alexander which was my #1 choice.

My H and I both like Harrison, not sure I love it yet though.
I do love Cooper and Brodie. H has vetoed those though :-(
The only other name he likes is Oscar.
I also really like Morgan, Murray, Millar and Harvey.

We are team blue and are really struggling for names too. (We have loads of girls names we loved, Do'h!) We have managed to come with a list of ones we agree on but i dont love any of them. We are set on William as a middle name.
So far we have:
Toby (currently top of the list)
Jacob (but think its too popular)

On our boys list we have
04/10/2013 at 16:05
We have Casey Thomas, Blaise Ripley, and Jacobey William Dougie (also known as Jacob, Jay, Jake, Cobey)
Top of my list if I ever had another (not going to happen) is Brodey.
Other names I liked were Finley, Riley and Tobey, but they have become too common or my taste. I also like Corey.

See, I knew it was just my husband's poor taste to veto Caleb, I think it's a lovely name! He has it in his head it's 'chavvy' - he has yet to prove this to me, and as we're both teachers we come across a lot of different names in a lot of different demographics. I've just moved into teaching teenage dropouts in a very deprived area and have met no Calebs at all!
Oscar was one we both agreed on right at the start - I'm not really sure why it was taken off the list. Probably H went off it - I still love it! Funnily enough one of our likely names I suggested right at the beginning and he said no way, and is now trying to suggest it was his idea all along
04/10/2013 at 16:20
I only know of one Caleb and that's my son - he/we're not chavvy.
04/10/2013 at 16:21
We struggled a bit with boys too. Don't worry, after labour your H will let you choose!
We have Samuel James and I also really like Ethan, Max, Adam and Louis.
Oh and Niall too but H vetoed it before I was even pregnant!
04/10/2013 at 16:22
i have lucas gabriel,w illiam jack and isaac jonah christopher
names on my list for another are
i seem to have ended up with a biblical theme which wasnt intentional at all
04/10/2013 at 16:23
It's definitely not a chavvy name Deedee - not even in our area (as sometimes names seem common within certain dodgier area..) so I have no idea where he gets these ideas from. I suspect he just doesn't like the name and thinks that by trying to persuade me it's chavvy, it'll put me off ;)
Lamby - I'm relying on the post-labour vote swing

CP's list has reminded me that Jack, William, Elijah and Isaac were also on my list (see, I'm not the difficult one, I like lots of names!) I think H conceded that Isaac could go on the maybe list, but he didn't like Elijah and he says we know too many Jacks and Williams. One of my other favourite names was Archie but he vetoed that as well.
It's been a long 9 months!

Like CP, I have a non-deliberate biblical theme going on - I have Joshua Luke and Jacob Matthew. Also on our lists were Daniel, Caspar and Elijah.

Good choice HF. Toby was our number one choice for Isla if she was a boy and this baby but seeing as this is another pink one I'm not sure whether we'll ever get to use it. We didn't consider any other boys names x

We're struggling for boy's names too, at the moment we're considering:
Noah (I've wanted this for years, OH not keen and seems to be more popular these days which puts me off slightly)
Toby (top of the list at the moment)
Nathaniel (OH doesn't like this but would consider Nathan)
We have a difficult surname which doesn't help!
04/10/2013 at 16:49
I think we would of used Caleb if this one was a boy. We have an Aaron. Also love oliver/olly
