H has decided he likes names that end in A (although not any of the ones I have suggested it would appear). We are looking for a short name, probably not beginning with Sh sound as wouldn't work with surname, ending in an A. I want it to be a stand alone name rather than an abbreviation, oh and if it could be unusual but not odd that would be fantastic. Not asking a lot am I ? Please save me from the fate of having a daughter names Ermintrude Names we have already thought of are :-IslaEmmaFionaLornaAnyaElsaAilsaOrlaThere must be more out there.

Oh and I'd use Sorcha if I was ever able to, or allowed but I understand I'm always alone with that one.

Thank you all so much, I am going to read all these out to H when he gets home at the weekend. He'll just love that
Quite a few of the ones suggested we unfortunately can't use due to friends using them, and a lot of them are just too popular even though they are lovely, which is of course why they are popular. Of course, knowing H by the time Noodles arrives in a couple of weeks he will have decided that he only likes names ending in G or some other random criteria.
