    Hi Girls,

for reasons that are out of my control and that i dont really want to talk about as they get me too upset  we have ended up with absolutlely no money for things that we need for the baby and his room.

Luckily i have got most of the basics such as nappies, clothes and feeding equipment. but i am struggling to find stuff for the nursery eg cot/ cotbed and furniture. Also we need to get a carpet too. We are having to use money out of our wages as the money we have saved is now gone, and we have very little to spare so if anyone knows of any good deals that are on anywhere or of any bargains to be had, please could you pass them on, i would be really grateful :\)

    Thanks,

    Nina 30+2 xx

I have only bought the bare minimum in the way of furniture as I just don't think we need that much initially - I have just got a moses basket (which my mum & dad got me for Christmas so don't know if it was a bargain or not!) and a changing station which I got from Ikea for ??90. They also do cots there which are really reasonably priced and nice looking. However, I understand they're not the most well designed as they don't have a drop side.

If you don't mind going second hand, have you tried ebay or looking on the NCT website as they list 'nearly new' sales in your area and although I've not been, they're supposed to be good for picking up some good things. Or kiddicare?

You say you've got most other things, but I always look out for bargains when I'm in the supermarket too, e.g. all the nappies, wipes, maternity pads etc and even a breast pump I got were all on offer in Tesco.

    Good luck

    Hi,

It is worth asking around friends too as you never know someone may know of someone that is getting rid of all their baby stuff. We were really lucky when I had my first and were given a gorgeous cot (second hand but looks like new) so we just had to buy a mattress, also got given a baby changing unit, a load of toys, and tons of clothes. Makes such a difference money wise and we are reusing it all again for baby number two!

Really hope you find some bargains xx
