I got prescribed it as I had two previous pregnancies that ended in c-sections as my blood pressure went mad in the last few weeks. I didn't like the idea of taking it as I thought you could only take paracetomol in pregnancy and as I had a miscarriage a few years ago did not want to risk it. I haven't taken it and my BP is fine so far (I'm 18 weeks now). I am consultant led too due to my age (am 45) and due to see them at the 20 week scan so will speak to them about it then, I hate taking anything during pregnancy so if I can hold off for as long as possible I will. Maybe you need to get your BP checked regularly and keep an eye on it if you are not happy? I bought a home test kit for BP from Lloyd's chemist and that was great for me to be able to check every day and keep it monitored, and then only call the midwife up if I was worried last time. Speak to them hon and let them know you are concerned. XX
