I'm sat up with Matilda who is bright red from scratching. It is everywhere that I put suncream on her today.... The blooming expensive Sudocrem mousse one. She's besides herself. Have dosed her up with piriton and hope she'll sleep soon.
I'm not sure what to try next? She's reacted to everything we've tried so far.
Can GP's prescribe anything magic?

Poor little thing. Certainly worth a trip, even if they can't prescribe they may be able to recommend something.
Has anything worked in the past?

Oh poor M. I would expect so, she can't be the only one allergic to sun cream. Definitely the cream and not the heat?

transpires im allergic not only to strong sunlight (PLE) but also to an ingredient in on the shelf sun cream.
I get on prescription Uvistat. You get it in Boots and its about £15 a tube, in various factors and its a total block. It has the consistency of Nivea cold crème. I've found it to be marvellous however I stay whiter than white when using it...

oh and my allergy appears like little bumps which is very very itchy and the more I scratch, it gets worse, leading to blisters etc etc. Interestingly, I haven't taken any antihistimines this summer and I've been out in the sun and despite chronic hayfever, I have had no reaction to the sunlight this year and haven't used my suncream as such.
I'm now wondering if they tested me for allergys to the anti's......

They only prescribe certain ones, specialist medicated ones, not sure sudacrem mousse is included

Have you tried Simple Baby?
Drs will prescribe yes as they said Ned may need a prescribed one (he gets an angry rash similar to prickly heat but more blister like) but they recommended Simple first and he doesn't react to it.

We had the simple on last year and she reacted. Honestly, she look like she'd been scolded with boiling water everywhere I'd put the cream.
CP, it was the sudacrem one she reacted to.
