Ive got isofix points but in maual it says I can only have it if I buy it from Peugeot dealer. Is that really the case???
Does anyone have a 206 if so can u tell me what base u have.
I'm really panicking :-(

Sorry if I'm being incredibly thick but buy what from the dealer? If your car has the isofix points installed the base just clips straight into them.

Like HT not too sure what you mean. IF you mean that you have an isofix base but not isofix in your car then yes if you take it to a Peugeot dealership they will retro fit it for you. We had it done on one side in our Ford Focus and I think it was roughly £70 a few years ago.

Sorry in the Manuel it states there are isofix points in car which we have seen however it states u must buy the isofix base from a Peugeot dealer. X

Think that is cr@p then. Isofix is universal so shouldn't differ, weird that it states that though. Have you had a try fitting it? If you don't have one already wherever you buy it from should show you how to fit it too x

Im just concerned out insurance would be invalid as we have ignored warranty rules. Thats why wanted someone to check in there manuel lol

Give it a bounce in the morning then. I def haven't heard of that before, why not call the insurance company to put your mind at rest too.

I would also suggest asking a reputable car seat fitters what they think as they would probably be in the know.

I've got a 206, what year is yours? We've happily put the isofix in the car ourselves.

Sounds like a load of old rubbish to me. So Peugeot are supposed to have a range of isofix bases to sell? I've never heard of that?
01/04/2013 at 10:04
I don't think that's right asked H who's a mechanic and he can't see any reason for this unless isofix is not already fitted for any reason or the booklet is a cover all in case you didn't have that option on your car. Perhaps phone a dealer and ask them what they make of it your not committing yourself just asking.

I will dig out the manual but mines a 51 reg, I don't think they changed them until 2007 tho. I'll try and get back to you today, otherwise it'll be tomorrow!

Well I have never ever heard of that, and most of you will know I am a bit of a carseat nerd. I would ring your local dealership and ask them but tbh I wouldn't be paying much attention to it.

Thanks ill nip to mothcare and talk to a car seat specialist there.
01/04/2013 at 17:12
Hmmm, I'd say Mothercare and the term car seat specialist don't exactly go together very well - these are the people that told me it was dangerous to keep Zoe rear facing after 9 mths ! Whereabouts in the country are you ? Somewhere like Paul Stride or the In Car Safety Centre have a much better reputation, in fact you could even ring them and ask tbh.
