I am currently taking 75mg's of Aspirin once a day for preeclampsia prevention, I have my scan and bloods due at the end of the month (So a little early in thinking this) My midwife couldn't get my blood at my booking in and so hoping to get it at my 12 week scan... Aspirin thins the blood so do I have to stop taking it so many days before a blood test? I have looked on google a few times and just seem to come up with stuff about operations.. Anyone got any idea's?

I've been on aspirin since 6 weeks and never had to stop taking it for my blood tests! i was also on blood thinners about 2 years ago and never had to stop for any tests etc, think they only ask you to stop it before an operation

I'm not on aspirin but they had trouble getting my blood at booking in, the midwife told me dehydration can be the cause, so make sure you drink lots on the day you have them next time :)

Oh thanks for that OB, I am guessing that might of been a factor as it was pretty early and I didn't have much to drink before she arrived, My next attempt is at my scan so I would of drunk a bit too get a full bladder and its at 09:45 so will have time to drink lots before I see them lol!
