I completely missed your BA ST, so belated congratulations to you and Mr ST! I can't begin to imagine what a frightening time it has been for you both over the past few days so I am so glad to read your update. Well done on managing to change his nappy in the incubator last night - that must have been a bit of a challenge! I'm glad that you've all been looked after well and I hope that you are recovering ok from the C-section. I can't wait to see a pic either! Wishing you lots of love xxx

Brilliant news ST. I know it's daunting trying to change a teeny weeny nappy inside that big plastic box and having to manouvere wires etc out of the way but you'll be amazed how quickly you get used to untangling bits and bobs and you'll be a pro in no time! x

Thanks ladies. I've added a pic on a separate thread, but just to update you on how he's doing he's been allowed to wake up since yesterday and watching him wriggle and stretch makes me so, so happy. This morning the nurse said that if he were a more straightforward baby (ie didn't have the heart condition) they would have taken him off the ventilator today, but just to be cautious they were going to keep him on for another 24 hours. It has been turned down twice since last night though and his wires have been removed. They're also increasing his milk because he's taking that really well. Little man is doing so well and we're so proud of him! Although when I gave him a kiss on the forehead last night I'm pretty sure he tried to wipe it off, what a cheeky monkey! Fingers crossed in a few days we'll finally get to hold him and give him a gentle cuddle.

Glad to hear that he is doing well ST. The food pipe not being connected sounds like what Max had. Oesophageal Atresia or TOFs? Is that right? I can see from the picture you posted that he is a very gorgeous boy too. Xx

You're exactly right MS, he had TOFs (he must like those initials, his heart condition is TOF too!) - I did mean to look up what Max had after you'd posted your BA but I never got chance, what with having S that same day! How is Max doing with his recovery? Xx

He's doing really well ST. We're actually waiting to get discharged today so we can go home!
How is S doing? If you want to talk about TOFs or ask me any questions about Max's experience you are very welcome to send me a private message. I think sometimes it can be good to talk to someone who has been through the same thing or similar. Especially when it's something quite rare like that.
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Xxx
