I am thinking about making a few towel cakes and baby bouquets (looks like a bunch of flowers but it made out of baby clothes) to sell locally just to make myself a bit of pocket money. Hope you dont mind me surveying you lot as parents/parents-to-be
I have made them previously as gifts but i cant find my pictures! Here is a link to another seller tho - so you can see what i mean.
If you were to receive such a gift what would your preferred contents be? Vests? Sleepsuits? Socks? Hat? Bibs? If it helps, I would go for a plain pink/blue/white
And what size? I'm thinking new parents buy newborn & 0-3months sizes themselves, (Yes?) so maybe i should i go for 3-6months? Or a mix of 0-3, 3-6 & 6-9months?
(They are cute an'all but I never seem to use baby socks - is it just me?)
Any other thoughts?

I got one of these from my H's work and I absolutely loved it!! One of my favourite gifts. The sizes were 3-6 months which I was glad about as I had it still as the flower bouquet looking thing for months, I didn't want to take it to bits. Mine had a muslin, socks, bibs, vest, face cloth, little toy and a pj set (top and bottoms).
I would def say size wise either 3-6 or 6-9.
Content wise I use the muslin and bibs all the time, the vest was handy as obviously he wears it, the face cloth I've never used, the toy is on shelve in his room, we do use socks now he's in trousers and tops during the day but I don't like the actual pair of socks, they don't have very good elastic and the pjs I originally thought I would never use at that size but they've been awesome in this warmer weather, I've put him to bed a couple of nights with just a long sleeve vest and pj bottoms when it's been too warm for a grobag.

I guess something to bear in mind is that it is not what parents themselves want per se but what ppl buying for parents would like? I personally think they look pretty in white (especially as it's easier to get everything in the same white).

We got given 1 from my hubbies work. I have to confess that the I liked the sock flower too much to ever use the socks, which I know is silly! It came with a Miffy rattle that she loves, a few muslins, the nappies weren't of great quality but were ok & a pink blanket that was wrapped around the base. Think I'd suggest 3-6 months clothes (if adding clothes) & size 2 nappies
