List them here, I'll try everything! (Apart from sex as I think my pelvis would collapse!)
So far we're trying:
Clary Sage massage and baths
Raspberry Leaf (to help with dilation)
Still to try:
Acupuncture (she's booked in for when I am 40+1!)

Someone I know had reflexology at 37 weeks and went into labour that afternoon!
Arranging fab things to do so you then have to cancel.
Guess long walk is out.
when did Ned arrive? I was 41+2 so will still be on the bench for ages, sigh...

Sex was all that worked here.. or maybe laxatives (iron tabs made me I'll and finally gave in and had my first dose of lactulose hours before my waters broke).
With regards to sex its only the end result you need. There are plenty of ways of getting it in there if your desperate (can't insert the laugh icon on my phone).
Do you know any newborn babies you can cuddle? Some say nipple tweaking and trying to express can work too?
Pedicure / foot massage (had this on the day my waters went too).
Generally just being relaxed.. (your waters More likely to go then).
The more active ones probably not suitable vut walking up the stairs, walking with one foot up the kerb and one off it..

Ah yes the 'law of sod' - Shall get booking with friends!
Ned was 40+3, who knows though if that has any bearing??
Long walk is indeed out as are things like kerb walking (in the non prozzie sense) but I can book a pedicure and I *might* attempt sex on Monday before acupuncture Si she can fix me if I break?!
No newborn babies to cuddle, that's what worked with N interestingly....
COME ON BSBY!!!!

No new suggestions- but asda have pineapples for 50p at the moment so get stocking up!
04/04/2013 at 15:31
I tried absolutely everything with E as I was desperate for a homebirth and didn't want to be induced with the only exception being hot curry as i can't stand it! Fresh pineapple gave me very intense tightenings but they wore off after an hour or so, one day I ate three full pineapples and spent the rest of it on the loo! E was born at T+13 - even sex didn't work. Fingers crossed for you! x

I had reflexology from 37 weeks and a week later baby arrived. Could be some truth to it. ALso freaked out when the reflexologist told me baby wasn't far off arriving and 'knew' I wouldn't get to 40 weeks!
Apparently you'd need to eat over 100 pineapples to have any effect (or so my MW said when I was trying to force E out!)

In the 24 hours before my contractions started i did the following; hot curry, pizza with loads of chilli, hobbled up and down the road and DTD.
On the DTD front there are apparently 2 schools of thought. One is that its something in the semen which gets things moving, the other is that muscles contractions from an orgasm can get things moving. The later doesn't require any effort/movement on your part......IYSWIM??!! Worth a try before you go the whole hog on that one i'd have though as you are in pain. I had awful SPD and have to say it was not pleasant at all and very very uncomfortable.

Nothing at all with L
With Isaac I didn't want him to come before my section date! O and I was in denial I was having a baby too , I played football with Lucas the day before my labour with isaac

I tried everything to get M out, nothing worked i had to be induced at 42 wk.
C came two week early, the only thing i did different was on my hands and knees scrubbing the carpet as Mia had a sickness bug, contractions started that night!

If sex was an option we'd def give it a go, but I can't even consider it thanks to the SPD and sciatica!
04/04/2013 at 18:36
So if we use AR's 2 different schools of thought on the whole sex thing, there are 2 options: 1, use a turkey baster, 2, enjoy a little bit of self love
Sorry, just trying to cheer you up chick. Ball bouncing helped with C here, am currently sat on it now as I'm desperate to get this monkey engaged. Maybe book a hairdresser's appointment?
04/04/2013 at 18:58
I have heard that you would have to eat huge amounts of pineapple for any effect too. Ball bouncing is good for getting baby in good position at least if you can manage it. My reflexologist reckons she can coax babies out so another vote for that!

So, in the spirit of invoking the law of sod:
Mum is over tomorrow and I want to dye my hair and have her paint my toenails plus I need to buy newborn sleepsuits
I have lunch booked with a load of friends on Saturday
Nothing planned Sunday - Should really plan something amazing?!
Coffee with friend on Tuesday
MW Wednesday plus H is in London so quite far away...
Nothing Thursday/Friday/Saturday (Need to get some stuff planned!!)
Child's Party on Sunday which is my EDD
Another child's party Monday when I'll be 40+1, plus acupuncture
That's got to help surely?!
I'm not sure I can tolerate that much pineapple! Turkey baster though.... !
My super hot curry is on its way!
04/04/2013 at 19:36
Haha BW that's what I was getting at in a more subtle manner. My MW pretty much said the same re turkey baster....
04/04/2013 at 19:49
For me it was loads of walking, hours of batch cooking, and a hair appointment. My waters went that night xxx
04/04/2013 at 20:28
Kebab and hot chilli sauce- my H forced me to eat it and it gave me a horrible stomach but I went into labour that night!
04/04/2013 at 20:30
Ooo forgot to add make sure you wear your best knickers at all times and have your favourite bed sheets on the bed- bound to invoke the law of sod!
