Baby is back to back. Giving me horrible lower back ache and generally making me worry about tearing (had 3rd degree tear with 1st baby & she was right way round! Just read that back-to-back increases chance of tearing. I really really don't want to tear again :-(
I've been on spinning babies website but wondering if the exercises actually work?
If you were aware baby was back-to-back, did you do anything to try to turn baby - and did it work?

Not really what you're asking but L was back to back (unknown to me until he was delivered) he arrived super fast with 2 pushes, no pain relief and no tears or stitches x

E was also back to back, no tearing here either. I delivered in the left lateral position, which is meant to minimise tearing. Though are you planning a home water birth? As it might not be a position you could achieve in the pool!

Yes, planning homebirth .... And got a pool for labour but not 100% about delivering in it because I'm worried about "shark attack" water (although I probably won't care at all at the time!)

Sorry 'shark attack water' made me laugh!!

Ball bouncing and hands and knees bum waving turned p after 2 days of contractions that went nowhere because she was back to back. My me said years ago there were less back to back babies as women were more active she recommended a website, I'll see if I can find it

I had a third degree tear and a back to back baby - never knew there was a link between these things. Thank you for educating me! Good luck this time, I hope you escape a tear - the consultant I saw suggested massaging the perenium from 35 weeks with sweet almond oil or wheatgerm oil to help prevent tearing.

S was ROL for yonks before he was born. Like others said, lots of ball bouncing and all fours helped and he was in the right position for birth in the end, albeit with his hands over his face but think that's unrelated! I did the yoga cat stretch very gently every night, its very relaxing as well as good for positioning. Spinning babies is a great resource.
