I want to try and do some batch cooking to prepare for a possible stay in NICU so we don't live on takeaways when baby b arrives, what did you make?

Tomato sauce to use with pasta/ make pasta bakes
And I stocked loads of frozen garlic bread and veg

Obviously not speaking from experience, but here are the ideas I'm planning (I've also very kindly been promised that my dad will make me some!)
Cottage pie - frozen into individual portions, or portions for two (individual foil containers are easier to get hold of though, and can go staright into the oven)
Lasagne (same re portions)
Bolognese sauce (could turn into chilli by just adding some kidney beans and some spices)

Casseroles and stews (I did sausage, beef and chicken), Chilli, Lasagne, Bolognese, Curry, Shepherd Pie, Pies (just cook up the filling and put together in pastry....freeze before cooking the pastry IYSWIM), soups, beef goulash..

For those of you freezing fish pie and cottage pie, don't you find that mashed potato goes funny when frozen and reheated?

I freeze fish pie and the mash is fine, I wrap in foil then put in a freezer bag to stop freezer burn. I defrost, put in oven for 20 minutes till the fish mix is bubbling, then dot with butter and stick under the grill. Mmmmmmm
