Well we've just accepted a fab offer on our house which has only been up for sale for two weeks so looks like we're moving! i want to get a side by side double when we move as haven't had the space in our current house.
I've heard good things on here about out and about nipper and also baby jogger city mini
I'll be buying second hand and the nippers seem to be quite a bit cheaper on eBay at first glance than the baby jogger.
But I'm wary about the nipper being three wheeled though as am a bit nervous that it would be toppling over when you go down a kerb etc, and also a friend had one and said her toddler wasn't keen as the seats don't go very upright so she kept leaning forward in the seat all the time.
my main thing is wanting one as light weight as possible as it's very hilly here, but not cheap and flimsy as I walk everywhere so needs to be hard wearing.
Are baby joggers the best or are there any others any one recommends that are nice and light and not too wide

Ive decded to see if I can manage without a double but did a loyt of research into them and had setted on a nipper They get brilliant reviews. I wasnt remotely concerned about 3 wheels not heing stable as we have a buzz 3 which is very stable

I currently manage without, W is a good walker but she's hit the terrible twos and has become a fan of the "lie on the floor in the middle of Asda" style tantrum so I would like to be able to have a double to strap her into!

I would love a bugaboo but even second hand I can't justify the price as W is 2 years 2 months so hopefully will only be using it for 12months max.

I've got a Nipper double and I love it. I've never had an issue with toppling as it's so stable.

I've just been looking at the specs and the baby jogger handle isn't adjustable and is 110cm. That rules it out for me as I'm only five foot so it would be way too high.
I may have to go find a shop somewhere with a nipper to try out with the two of them in to see how it feels.
Does anyone know what differences there are between the nipper v1 v2 and v3 are as I'm assuming if I go to look at one in John Lewis etc it will be v3 but second hand ones on eBay are likely to be v1 or v2.

This thread isn't helping my indecisiveness. I currently want 4 buggies for the twins...
For the first year-18 months:
The bugaboo donkey or icandy peach 3 blossom twin whatitsface.
Then after the first year or so:
A baby jogger city mini double or nipper double.
The icandy looks really practical with the car seats or carrycots on. But less so for when they move to the seat units. The Donkey looks gorgeous and in theory should last the whole 2-3 years we need it BUT I'll probably be gagging for a super lightweight option when the twins are baby elephant toddlers.
Good job I have a while to decide!

Ducky my friend has a donkey, first child was 18months old when baby arrived . They are now 3 years old and 18mths old and she still uses it lots (although that may be to justify to her husband having spent so much on it haha!)
The I candy seat units are tiny, it looks lovely for twins when they're babies but you're right about then needing to change when they are bigger

It's not a side by side but I've got the baby jogger city select double and the handle is adjustable on it. I've found it easy to use and push about x

Thanks mamaD I'm after a side by side as I've already had a tandem ( Phil and teds) and hated it so sold it after a couple of weeks! I've not been able to get a side by side as I have an awkward front door but now I'm moving it's top of my shopping list!

Ha, I know what you mean! Mine has to live in the boot!

Ducky I have a (secondhand) Donkey. I figure the resale value is good enough to justify the cost.

The v2/3 is much narrower than the v1 - I think it's the narrowest side-by-side on the market (the 2012 version is 72cm wide); I'm able to fit it through my front door with the kids in it.

Thanks DS. Do you like yours then , would you recommend it?
How heavy do you think it is to push with your two in?

I had the Nipper V1 double. Absolutely loved it. Never had a problem with kerbs etc. it's so light and easy to manoeuvre. Love the big hood and all the pockets. I've just bought a single V2, I looked at the V3 but there are very few differences. The break is slightly different, the mesh at the back of the seats when laying flat is a bit difference. The V2 and V3 both have adjustable height handles, V1 is fixed. The pockets on the side of the V1 are mesh but the V2 and 3 are solid material.
Go have a play with it, you'll love it!

Thanks for that LR that's exactly what I wanted to know. Doesn't sound like a great deal of difference between them- I didn't want to have a try of a new v3 in a shop, then buy an old v1 or v2 on eBay just to find there was massive differences and I didn't like it as much.
Really good to know the v1 handle isn't adjustable as that's a big thing for me as I'm only five foot so may have to specifically look for a v2

I'm 5'2 and ex H was 6'2 and we both managed fine with the V1. If you can find one to try I would.
I just sold my double V1 for £100 to a friend, I'd have gotten more on eBay/gum tree. My handle had a bit of damage on the foam cover(think the boot was closed on it)

I have an out n about nipper too. It has been great. So easy to steer. I have 17.5 months between #2&3. #2 is nw nearly 3.5 and although I don't use it on a daily basis ith him. It is great to have for longer journeys ......or on the school run in the rain! #4 is due within 6 weeks and like before I will use it from newborn days.
