BFing has been a bit painful the last few days. When i was putting lansinoh on this morning i noticed a painful lump on the underside of my nipple. It looks a bit red under the areola with this lump above it. Any ideas what it might be and how to make it go?

Is it like a blister? Or more of a hard lump?

Could be a blocked duct although mine were on the actual boob not nipple. If its sore it could be. If so keep feeding and massage over it. Warm flannel, massage in shower, express even. Don't leave that boob or it'll get worse

If you massage your boobs does it sort of bulge? If so, then its a blocked duct, and you need to use warm compresses on it.
Or it could be a milk blister. There's info on Kellymom on how to treat them ( kellymom.com/.../nipplebleb )

Thanks everyone. Its like a hard lump rather than a blister. I will get massaging!! X

Along with massaging etc, can you get baby into a position where her chin would be on the lump - she will help 'massage' the lump/blockage for you ...... If not, get H to give you a hand!
