Just wondering really I was looking at the alapha parent BF time line and I am sure (discobaby 8months) is not having as many feeds a day as they suggest.
until recently I would have said he was still having 6 ish feeds but recently he has dropped right off, he does vary it a bit but some days I would say he only has 3-4 BFs other days more depending on what he has eaten.
today he will have 5 but yesterday he only had 3 although one of those was mamouth 2 sided affair.
So just wondering really how we compare to others

We're not BFing any more, but E's feeds vary from day to day both number of feeds and amount taken. Some days practically no milk during the day and others it's every bottle taken. I am (most of the time) happy to follow her lead as I think they know what they need/want x

J (9 1/2months) always gets a feed first thing in the morning, one mid afternoon, and one before bed. Sometimes he gets one mid morning too, and more often than I would like he gets lots in the night as well. So probably it averages about 4-5 over a 24 hr period but some days he only has 3. So far today he's had 4, I'll be lucky if I get away without feeding in the night... I suspect he gets less than he should overall, (I just don't feel like I have much milk, whether that's true or not I don't know) but he has really taken to solids, and has milk with his breakfast and generally a yoghurt a day too, so hopefully he's getting enough.

At 8 months I hadn't really dropped any feeds so would probably be on 6 feeds but if you feed on demand then your baby will take what they need. Maybe try offering lots of dairy just to cover it.

T feeds on and off from 5/6 - 7am, then a big feed at 5.30pm when I get back from work, and as he wants it through the evening with a last feed at around 9 before he goes to sleep. I worry that he's not getting enough too - I was expressing for his lunchtime feed but as of a month ago T just lost interest. He has milk with his porridge and some yoghurt/rice pudding etc most days so I hope he's getting enough. Thinking about it it's 4 feeds - morning, afternoon, evening and bedtime. He's recently 'got' eating to satisfy hunger and wants less milk in the evenings now.
Are we meant to just follow their lead when it comes to dropping more feeds as they get older? I can't imagine not feeding him when I get home from work!

maybe I'm not as far off as I think, Disco has a feed on waking but has dropped his mid morning feed having developed a liking for breakfast)he then feds after lunch before bed and has a dreamfeed.
until this week he was feeding at night but touch wood has slept the last few nights (watch him wake up now I have said that).
I think I will continue to let him tell me if he is hungry and see how we do. Think I might do an extra express if he keeps sleeping so milk doesn't dissapear to quickly.

BK yes feeding on demand so do wonder if he is taking more per feed, Currently can't not feed on demand as when hungry he has taken to pulling out/down the front of my top and looking at my chest until he is fed. Not good when in public
