So some of you may have read, I have had cramping over the last week or two. Worst was Sunday when I actually cried.
Had it Mon and yesterday and when I went to the loo and wiped there was blood. Fresh red blood. Called MW team who said to go to a&e to get checked. Off I went and the Dr pretty much said it could be normal bleeding, a threatened miscarriage or a miscarriage and there wasnt much they could do and to call gynae ward if still bleeding today. Bleeding has stopped but still bad cramps. Called gynae ward and she said they can do early scan but only once I am 7 weeks and need to be referred from gp/mw. Called mw and she said the same really and booked a scan for 2 Jan.
Bit annoyed as they both said that a scan now would be pointless so now I have to wait til after Xmas (we were going to tell our parents at xmas and im not so sure now).
Anyone got any advice?

Sorry to hear that mrs w. Its such a worrying time. I had a private scan at 5.5 weeks which showed a heartbeat because of a bleed. The scan cost £60 and I know that is a lot of money but maybe for reassurance could you go down that route? Seeing a heartbeat doesn't guarantee that the worst can't happen but it can tell you what is happening at the moment. Good luck x

Oh MrsW I'm sorry to hear this.
I had a couple of bleeds at about the same time as you and my EPU booked in for a scan the next day which showed all was ok - they think bleeding may have been caused by implantation.
Like Rose I also had a private scan a few weeks later to check all was still ok, so maybe that could be an option? At least then you would know before Christmas and can hopefully still tell your folks the good news?

Thanks for your replies girls. I have
got a scan booked 2 Jan, hubby has told his work now and his boss said hell make sure hubby is off that day. Ive also told my work now. We thought it best in the circumstances. We were going to tell them after Xmas anyway.
Seeing my GP this afternoon for reassurance too x

Hiya - Sorry yes it went fine. Dr said Dr at A&E should have booked me for an early scan and that ill just have to wait and see but from the amount of blood, she said she thinks all should be ok - it was like a spotting so hopefully all ok.

Both my GP and mw said they dont/wont scan you til you are 7 weeks. Gonna have a busy few days.... Xmas alone then my parents over at boxing day, then his parents fro the fri til sun, mw appt appt mon and scan thurs! At least itll go quickly being at Xmas!!
If a whole period iis a teaspoon of blood, the bleeding would have been the tiniest drop of blood.

Good luck, hope everything's okay - I had bleeding and cramps this time around on and off from 5 to 8 weeks and everything was fine. I also bled with my DD at 11 weeks, and from what I've seen bleeding in the first trimester is far more common than you'd think. Easier said than done, I know, but try to relax and enjoy Christmas. 2nd Jan will be here before you know it.
