Hi everyone, hope that you are all doing well and everyone is getting excited!Well at work yesterday I had just about finished my dinner break, so I nipped to the loo before going back in - and when I wiped there was light pink when I wiped. I wiped again and the same thing happened.I ran for my manager and asked her to come outside and burst into tears and was trembling with the shock. She got my phone and rang my GP's surgery emergency line - they booked me in for an appt within the hour, and another colleague drove me home as I couldn't drive my car, and rang my hubby to meet me at home to take me to the surgery.I went to the loo twice while at home, and then once when at the surgery - nothing at all when I wiped. What?!So I talked to the GP and discussed it, no pains or anything and felt fine up until then, and she seemed to think it was nothing to worry about. She did try and book me an emergency scan at my hospital of choice, but due to the strike action they had cancelled all scanning appts yesterday and today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I work for the NHS myself as an Ambulance Controller but I was at work!!) So I was a little miffed at that... She assured me that this can be normal, even though I had no bleeding with my first pregnancy and have a healthy 3 year old at home, so she printed off a summary with some notes so that if I was worried before my scan on Friday, I could be seen in A&E as a priority and they would use a portable scanning machine.Hubby and I were happy with this, and we came home and he picked up our little one from nursery and I rested for the rest of the night in my PJs, snuggled on the sofa under blankets.Last night and this morning I went to the loo, and these times when i wiped I have been quite dry but there has been a brown colour - I have googled it (as you do!) and it seems to think whatever it was brown is a good sign as this is old blood and coming to the end of something. I was on the pill for 3 years when we stopped it to try for baby number two, and had no periods at all in that time. Fell pregnant within 3 months so could this be old blood from that or something...?I worked myself up last night so tummy was in knots, but managed to fall asleep and get some rest.Today I am planning a quiet day at home with my little boy, and see how I get on.Thanks for reading, sorry if I have wittered on (My Mum died in 2007 and my Dad last year, am an only child so talking on here helps)xxxx

Listen - I am no expert at all, but I couldn't read and run. I've been where you are and I just wanted to offer some help.
I had exactly what you describe when I was pregnant with my now-four-year-old son. Pink when I wiped, followed by a scan a few days later that showed a healthy little splodge. I've also had bright red bleeding with this pregnancy, and everything was - and is - fine. I had a scan at 6+2 and then another this morning that said I'm 9+5. At my first scan, they identified an area of bleeding under the pregnancy and said there might be more, or my body could reabsorb it. I've had no more at all (and touch wood that will continue to be the case!) so it must've been the latter that happened.
Unfortunately, in June this year I wasn't as lucky and I lost my baby at around 10 weeks. That said, I'd known it wasn't right for weeks and had a lot of bleeding over that time; the bleeding I had was daily, varied greatly from bright red to pink to beige to bright red again, but was never 'old' brown blood.
I wish I could tell you for certain that everything is fine, but without a scan I can't and I'm so sorry about that because I know how it feels to worry constantly and to think the worst. Please, please step away from Google. It may seem like you're reassuring yourself, but it isn't your friend. The best thing you can do is keep resting, keep an eye on it all and try as hard as you can not to panic. Bleeding is really common in pregnancy, and in healthy ones too, but you've done exactly the right thing in seeking help straight away. Be kind to yourself, hun.

Thanks for replying - in myself I feel fine, no pains or anything like that.
I am keepng well rested today, feet up on the sofa and drinking plenty and getting snacks etc.
It is every other time I go to the loo I wipe, there is a tiny amount of brown discharge, not like blood or anything, then if I wipe again it disappears, so for now I will monitor this and wait until Fridays scan - unless things change and I will then go straight to A&E!

Sounds good. Put some trashy tv on and distract yourself! I'm miserable at home with the mother of all colds (I didn't realise how much cold and flu tablets actually work when I'm normally like this!) and I feel like I'm turning into one big gunky blob. It's dead boring being off work but at least I might be able to stop this turning into a throat or chest infection!
Keep us posted x
