My midwife's rung today. I had my details left in her tray by the doctors receptionist on Friday and when she rang today she's got me an appointment tomorrow! I know it doesn't really tell you anything at this appointment, but it's all part of the process.
I'm getting excited

Well I don't know if she's on holiday soon or something, but her clinic at my docs is normally a Thursday so not sure why she's seeing me on a Wednesday. Plus if you put my dates into a calculation thing with a 28 day cycle, then I would actually be 7+5 tomorrow. It's only because I know my cycles were around 31 days that I've estimated my due date as a few days later.
Doesn't really matter how far along you are anyway as they don't really 'do' anything if last time is anything to go by.

So I'm "booked in" now. I should say that I've moved since my last pregnancy and am now under a different trust - but has anyone else ever had to go to the hospital to have blood taken?! It's the most ridiculous thing ever. In my last pregnancy the midwife drew blood and tested urine with a dipstick. It seems under this trust that the midwives don't do these tasks; my urine has been sent away and I'm to report to the hospital for my blood test within the next week. Wouldn't be so bad except we're a one car family and my husband works 9-5, guess what hours the clinic's open?! Stupid thing is that I know they have a phlebotomy clinic at my doctors surgery. Very odd!

Yes I think next time I may stamp my feet a bit harder and claim no-car-poverty to see if they fit me in at the surgery. As it is my Mum comes over on a Wednesday so she's taking me tomorrow. We're taking the opportunity to scope out the hospital as we've barely been to the town before, let alone the hospital!!
