Just out of interest really. The thing that's putting me off bfing the most is the limit to my clothes.
I have 2 feeding tops and 2 feeding vests (so uncomfortable I don't wear them), otherwise I have 2 or 3 other baggy tops I wear with a belly band underneath. I only have one pair of my normal jeans which fit me and a maxi skirt, otherwise its maternity trousers still. I feel like a total mess, but can't afford new clothes.
So what do you wear to feed in? Are you in specific feedingtops? If you wear your normal clothes how do you feed discreetly in them?

I just had normal tops (mostly vests) with a lowish cut neckline that I could just pull down a bit, then used a muslin to cover anything up (not that you could see anything really) and catch any milk that C would invariably bring up during the feed!

When its cooler i wear a vest top under a normal top. I pull the vest top and bra cup down under my boob and pull the other top up so just the nipple is out. In this weather i wear a vest top only. I have a huge gold pashmina and i sit on one end, drape over the shoulder of the side i am feeding from and feed P under it. It also shields her from the sun.

Thanks ladies - I shall try. Deedee I do have tops I can pull down, but then how do you cover the top part of your boob - I can't quite manage with a muslin?

I am also a fan of two tops, a vest underneath and a top over. However in this weather I have just been wearing a vest.
I tried hiding my boob under a muslin but without any success and therefore when out use a breastfeeding cover (similar to this m.johnlewis.com/.../p231024501). It allows me privacy but I can still look down at E and keep him cool when feeding. Very pricey but has been a great buy for me as I have the confidence to feed anywhere and doesn't restrict me doing things around feeding. My friend said that she bought similar in TK Maxx for a lot cheaper so may be worth a look

This is where my pashmina comes in! Its huge and cost £3 on the market! One end goes under my bum when i am sitting down, it goes up my back and over my shoulder covering the top of my boob and P. Because i sit on one end it doesnt keep slipping off my shoulder as i can pull it tight. Works a treat. I also use it as a sun shade on the buggy as parasols get on my nerves and a cover if we are in the shade or the temperature drops. Definitely one of my best buys!

If you tuck the corner of a muslin in your bra strap it covers pretty well.

I had lots of waterfall cardigans that I pulled round me and D's head. she wouldn't tolerate being covered in any way. I'm sure I always flashed someone but I didnt care. was feeding my baby. I was fortunately never challenged. If it was a busy place I would sit with my back to most people so I offended as few people as possible. I tried a cover but just didn't work for me. Bought some big scarves and will try my pashmina this time round x

if you pull the vest up from underneath your top that covers the top part of your boob. Your main top then covers your tummy. I was actually thinking about this today, and probably need to get some loser fitting tops that I can pull around. I find the covers that Ferb mentioned that are designed to cover you up are more actually make me look more as I look at women and wonder what the hell they are wearing! But, if it works and keeps you feeding bubs then great. Button up tops are hopeless in my experience and proper feeding tops are ok, but not always what you want to be wearing.

I used to mainly wear vests I could pull down and a cardi to hide side boob. I never used anything to cover up, with his head there you couldn't see any more than with a low cut top anyway.

Thanks again ladies. I have some pretty scarves so may try sitting on one of those with a vest. I do worry about flashing my top boob!

I use the two tops approach. Pull the top one up, and the underneath one down. The top one hides the top of the boob and his head covers the rest. There may be side boob but I usually have my arm across there.
It is a bit hot in this weather, but I find it makes me the most comfortable as I know you can barely see a thing so I am unembarrassed to feed in public.
