Today is my first day as a milk donor and i have realised my pump is rubbish!! I have the TT CTN manual pump and there is little suction and even with full breasts i get less than1oz out! I dont want to spend too much as i rarely express for P so its mainly to donate. Any recommendations?

I had the avent manual, only used it occasionally but it was brilliant. If I was full I'd easily get 6oz in 10 mins.

I have the medela swing and it's great but i only get 1-2 oz at a time now even if she's missed feed.

My Medea swing is still for sale on the for sale board if you're interested. The double convertor pipe I've got with it would save you loads of time. The only problem I had with the swing was that the cable to plug it in was quite short and it would cut off quite easily if pulled, but an extension cable or using it with batteries solved that problem for the few times I used it. I have to say though that the best way to get a decent amount expressed would be with a hospital standard double pump. I had one to exclusively express with my youngest and the swing wasn't a patch on it. Is there any chance the hospital could loan you one?

Thanks everyone. LWO thanks for the offer but really only want to spend £30 max. Unfortunately our hospital doesnt lend them. I have just found the Avent online for £20 so have ordered that. Thank you x

No probs. That's a shame that they won't loan them when you're being kind enough to donate your milk. X

When I was expressing for my daughter I found I got the most out when I was using my manual TT pump when I was feeding her on the opposite side as she stimulated my let down. When I went back to work I switched to the medula electric swing mini as it helped get the let down going when she wasn't there.
