My wife purchased the Xplory for our 3rd child while I was out of the country. We previously owned a Bugaboo Cameleon for 6 years (and 2 children).
Let me say that I admire the Xplory's looks over the Cameleon and being closer to your little one is nice.
That being said, there is nothing else that I can recommend about this stroller over the Cameleon, especially given its higher price. Other than design buffs like my wife, who prefer form over function, I can't think of a reason (other than the need for the optional 2nd seat) why you would pick the Xplory over the Cameleon. I certainly would have used one of my vetoes on it had I been in the country.
Firstly, you better have a sizeable boot/trunk because it's a monster when folded up. You also better have a strong back because it weights close to 13 kilos or 28 lbs vs 20 lbs for the Cameleon.
Secondly, it is NOT easy to maneuver. Compare the Xplory to the Cameleon and the Stokke fails miserably. The Cameleon will turn on a dime for me with just finger and thumb and will go over any reasonable terrain you can throw at it. The Stokke takes much more effort to maneuver and is rubbish on more difficult terrains compared to the Cameleon.
Thirdly, our first 2 children seemed to sleep more soundly in the Cameleon. This may be a coincidence, sure, but our 3rd is not fussy and was sleeping though the night at 4 months. Maybe being closer to us while we are talking is keeping her up. I don't know..but the bottom line is the Xplory certainly is no more comfortable than the Cameleon. In my experience I would have to say it is less comfortable. Also, the Cameleon comes with the carry cot and the seat & costs less than the Xplory which doesn't even come with the carry cot. You have to shell out a few hundred more to get that.
IMO if you're considering the Stokke Xplory I would advise you to save some money and get the Cameleon. I miss ours terribly.
