I would only buy properly fitted shoes for a toddler. Doesn't have to be Clarks though and I also use their website to order stuff in because I find the stores hit and miss as to what they have in.
Now Zoe is 5 then I am more relaxed about it but she still have fitted shoes for her main ones, ie school shoes.

I usually order them online and pick them up from store so they can fit them but I'm just not like any of the ones they have at the moment and I'm not really sure where else to try. Are there any other well known stores that fit them?

Startrite might be worth a look. Zoe has Lelli Kelly's in the summer but they are properly fitted by a local independent store.

I don't think we have a Russell and Bromley nearby. I've just remembered there's a little independent shoe shop up the road, might give that a go. I think boys are harder to buy for sometimes, you should have seen a pair of the sandals they showed me for F, they were gross lol.

I have never bought either of my boys shoes from Clarks. I take them there to be measured, but never buy, as I always think their shoes look a bit like "corrective" footwear.
I buy them from wherever has nice shoes tbh, although my boys live in trainers, mainly from sports Direct.

What about John Lewis? Our local one have always been good for measuring. They do stock a lot of Clarks but have start-rite and others too. I got O some summer shoes from Brantano recently, they measured and fitted her.
I know what you mean about Clarks shoes - the girls selection is slightly better than the boys but I still think most of them are hideous!

I've only bought them from clarks (although we're only on our 3rd pair!). I also get them brought in from the online stock as they don't tend to have them in her width fitting. The selection never seems to be great (generally just pink for girls). Sorry don't really know where else to look. Good luck though x

Haha AK I know what you mean about the corrective footwear thing!
DD - I hadn't thought about John Lewis. We were in town yesterday as well, maybe have to pop back at the weekend. Brantano is a good idea too.
BK - you're right about the in store selection not being great. I feel a bit silly really for letting them sell me the pair we came away with. In hindsight I let them make me think his current shoes are too small so I panicked I guess. Having looked at them again I think he's ok for a bit longer.

I always get their main pair fitted but I go to an independent shop so they have different brands, F currently has Geox, T has Superfit and R has Primigi. Going to get R some livie and Luca elephant shoes for summer as I love them and will fit them myself but they won't be his main pair.
