    Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there are many older first time mums on this site. I am 34 (will be 35 when baby is born) and this is all new to me. I'm not suffering from morning sickness (yet!) although I have had a bad back recently, so everything seems good at the moment.
    How are you all doing?

Hi Nessy, I am 31 and due on 9th Oct.
I had a hideous first trimester but soon perked up about 15/16 weeks and felt great after that. 30 weeks on Tues so starting to slow down a bit now.
Getting out of breath and v tired easily!

    Hi Tracey,
Have you managed to exercise during your pregnancy? I have great plans (Yoga and Pilates DVDs are winging their way towards my home as I type!) and I hope this will help my energy levels/general fitness.
Hope you are getting plenty of rest,

Hi there, I am 37 and 30 weeks pregnant. I have had a great 30 weeks (touch wood) and have been feeling fine. Getting a little tired and uncomfortable now but apart from that feel well. All my blood tests came back very low risk so no amniocentesis which was good, the thought was pretty scary. The only thing that concerns me is that if we want another one, we need to think about it not long after my lst little one is born !! But won't worry about that for now

Haven't done much exercise apart from small walks every day. Just bought a maternity bather so think I will start swimming.

    Hi Tracey4,
My Mum was 46 when she had me, so you've got plenty of time for more babies!!!
Seriously though, I'm concerned about amniocentesis, too, but I'm trying to just take one day at a time... There seem to be more risks being an older mum, it's quite worrying.
Hope you are not too uncomfortable and getting plenty of rest,

I'm 33 and almost 36 weeks pregnant with my first baby! I had a rotten first trimester with awful sickness! Now I've got spd and a bump the size of a small country that is very heavy! Baby is due 4 days after my 10th wedding anniversary so it would be lovely if it came a few days early!
    Take care everyone and relax!!

Hi I'm 33 and this is my first, and he's due in 6 weeks. I've had a really easy pregnancy, hardly any sickness a bit tired, but only what you'd expect. I'm feeling more tired now over the last few weeks and I'm finding it hard to sleep, but apparenlty - sleep is for wimps so I'll get over it.
been swimming once a week and talking my dogs out every day and been feeling fine. I would say the worst thing about my pregnancy is the hormones and hideous bitchrants I do, but who am I trying to kid - i did that anyway.

I had great plans for exercising in pregnancy too..... somehow the last 30 weeks seems to have flown by (!) and I've done precisely nothing!
Feeling bad now and wonder how much I can pull it back in 11 weeks.

Hi all. I'm 36 and just 15 weeks with my first baby. So far I think I have been quite lucky, apart from feeling tired and going off certain foods I felt OK in the first trimester. I have however been suffering from a bad headache for the past 24 hours. Is it really OK to take paracetemol? I have done no exercise so far as I really have not had the energy but I'm planning to get walking & swimming! George, x

    Hi there
Yep I have taken the odd paracetamol. My Doc said it is fine. I have taken them for ligament pains low down which I get occasionally mostly after a lot of walking. Don't worry Tracey, I had lots and lots of plans for exercise. I even joined a gym but cancelled it !!!! I do plan on rejoining after !!! I live in hope.

Nessy, about the amnio. I was all prepared to have it (and very scared) but lots of blood tests later put me 1 in 22,000 which is very low risk so I took advice from the doc and didn't have it. I have quite a few friends who have had it and all has been OK. I can imagine the worry though, I was pretty scared by the thought.

I hope everyone is feeling OK. I think we all sound like we are in the same boat. Luckily time is flying by. I keep trying to imagine my life with a little one but it doesn't seem real yet !

    Enjoy

I am 35 and having my first baby due the 28th of Dec. So currently 18 weeks and 2 days. I had really bad nausea but hardly sick but overwhelming tiredness in the 1st trimester, things are improving now though.

I'm 35 and almost 30 weeks pregnant with my first. I've had a great pregnancy so far and apart from tiredness in the first couple of months I've felt fantastic. Thankfully all my tests came back low risk which was a great relief. You do worry about it more when you're that bit older. I've managed to exercise throughout my preganancy. I've always regularly gone to the gym, so that continued when I got pregnant - obviously I slowed things down and took more care. As I'm getting bigger, I'm slowing down even more and have done more swimming, but at the moment still manage to go about 2-3 times a week.
    Take care x

yes, I am 32 and my baby is due in Jan 08. Though I am not at all familiar with babies, and my pregnancy and the baby itself will be a massive learning experience for me! Hugely excited, and doing ok, thanks. Lots of sickness and dizziness, but hopefully I am through the worst of it. I am frantically touching wood! Good luck, girls.

    Hi
I am 30 and 17 wks with my first. Am so glad am going to be a slightly older? mom. No offence to those energetic youngsters who have them in late teens, early 20s but glad have got career and done a bit of travelling etc and am ready for life change. Think you do worry when oder though as noe I am worrying that when ready for 2nd (hopefully when this one is 4ish) then may have difficulties. nuchal fold was fine..but I agree you can't help but worry.

Hi I'm 32 and 32 weeks with my first. I've had a great pregnancy, not a bit of sickness and I seem to have been "text book". Getting a little tired and heavy now. I did have plans to excercise during my pregnancy but that has gone out of the window now!!

I have always been slight (size 8-10) and have found putting 3 stone on a bit of a shock!! But I plan to get my body back after the baby is born.

We've been married for 7 years (last week) and I am so glad we left it until now to have kids, we have had our fun and holidays and now we feel mature and confident enough to become great parents.

I've still got plenty left in me though - life isn't over yet!!!!

I just want to make a small comment. Age doesn't really have much to do with having a baby. I'm 22, married and have a very stable life. Yes this post was for over 30 mums - I just agree with some of the comments. Glad you're all having good pregnancies xx
