I've written to my employer telling them by intended dates for maternity leave and I read on the DirectGov website that they have to respond within 28 days. That has now expired. I've chased our HR dept in London and still haven't heard a thing, not even an acknowledgement of my letter. Does anybody know what I can do if I don't get a response from them? Thanks

    Hi there,
I wrote to mine over 4wks ago now and I have not recieved a reply either. I didnt realise they were supposed to reply back, and I dont think I had a reply from my last employer with my last pregnancy either.

oh, maybe I've got it wrong then. Did you just take your maternity leave on the days stated in your letter then without hearing anything back?

yeah I agree HR will probably get to it... I got my letter well before I left. It had the dates I was leaving plus the dates I were due & any benefits I would get.

have you spoken to them? maybe just write them another quick letter? x

her phone is always on voicemail and she hasn't returned my call. tried e-mailing and sent another letter, but nothing. if it's normal practice for them not to reply i'll just take my dates as stated in my letter.
