Holly will be 9 months next week. The last 2 nights she's been going to bed at her usual time of 7pm - 7.30pm but then waking at 11pm (she normally goes through to around 4am). I've been giving her a feed and H and i take it in turns to rock her. We get her to sleep (snoring sleep!) but the second we lay her down she's wide awake and starts crying. Last night i got her off at 1am and the night before 2am. She doesn't seem distressed or in pain. If i leave her in the cot she rolls around, grizzles a bit or gets on her front and cries because she's at that stage where she gets frustrated because she can't quite crawl yet.
Both this morning and yesterday when i've got her up she's had a horrendous smelling nappy which has leaked out the sides and all through her clothes. It seems like something has upset her tummy but she just doesn't seemed bothered by anything in the night.
Would you take her to the doctors or am i worrying over nothing? H thinks she might have a food intolerance.

Could it be teeth related? A went through a phase like that around 8 months. It only lasted a few nights and then she was back to normal.

I think it sounds like teething to me. My two have been very similar when they've had their teeth bothering them, and also the smells they make in their nappies are unreal. S is a bit like this at the moment, last night he went off no problem, then when H and i went to bed about 10pm we must have disturbed him and it woke him up. He was then unsettled until about 12am and we had to give him lots of cuddles and calpol before he went off. This morning, i can see two little white mounds under his gums, so i'm expecting two new teeth within the next few days. When he's teething he just wants cuddles all the time, and it definately gives him the runs.

She's definitely teething. She's been a nightmare all week with regard to being unsettled, not wanting to sit anywhere or do anything. It's just different to when Ben was teething! Why can't kids be textbook ;-) She's had some sickness as well but that was only in the first night.
