I was all set on getting the Maxi-Cosi Pebble with the Familyfix base but after checking on the website it seems that they aren't compatible! I've emailed them for some advice but now I'm finding it really difficult to see what will fit as I don't really understand why the Maxi-Cosi wouldn't.

Hmm, my friend has that exact combination. Is it not just the maxi-cosi haven't tested it in the Kia?
Where in the country are you? Anywhere near Rayleigh or Milton Keynes?

Not all car seats fit all cars. We have a Japanese imported car - which turned out to be a nightmare to get car seats fitted to it. However took it to 'in car safety centre' in Milton Keynes and they were soooo fantastic. We had the choice between 2 seats.

BG I did wonder that as the older models were compatible, will see if they reply to my email! I'm down in Cornwall, not sure if there's anything down here like that.

Definitely get confirmation from them before then if it was comparable with older models.

Mama Chic in Plymouth are a rear facing specialist. Not sure if they do 1st stage seats but I'm sure they'd be able to point you in the right direction if they can't help.

Sorry, got distracted by toddler earlier and forgot to add to my post that we have maxi-cosi pebble. We have the Easybase2 with it tho. As it wouldn't fit without a base and familyFix base didn't fit either. Car is 17yr old Mitsubishi Pajero (equivalent of UK Shogun)

If you have the new model I would hazard a guess that they haven't tried it yet. Doesn't mean you definitely can't use it, why not go to a stockist and get them to try it in the car. Also, even if it says it will fit it doesn't always. Both my mum and I had old Ford Focus' when I was having Zoe, the Maxi Cosi fitted in hers but not mine !

I have a 13 plate kia sportage and we have the easyfix base with the maxi cosi cabriofix.
I understand this is the older version of the new family fix base?
We had no problems fixing it x

Thanks Katiebelle :-) think I'll get it then! X
I've had a reply from maxi-cosi saying that they don't have any test info for the car so they recommend we take it to a retailer.

We have been looking at exactly the same combination of Sportage with the Maxi-Cosi Pebble with the Familyfix base, but have just seen on the maxi cosi site that they suggest it is not suitable. BumpEnvy, did you get any further clarification from a retailer, or have you tried the seat and fixing in the car?

We bought the car seat and base and it fits fine :-) I did email Maxi-Cosi and they confirmed that they hadn't tested the newer model yet, therefore they couldn't tell me much!

Thank you BumpEnvy that makes me feel a lot better we will carry on and get them :)
