When I moved J to formula we started on Aptimal as I didn't really know where to start and a friend recommended it. I was looking in Boots and Cow&Gate are about £2 cheaper a tub which would make a big difference. Ae the milks pretty much the same? I don't want to change and it disagree with him and him suffer but in thinking they can't be that different? Would you introduce a new milk gradually or just swap fully straight away? If he doesn't get on with another milk then I'd stick with Aptimal but just seems silly to pay more than we need to.

Hi, I have heard that essentially C&G and Aptamil are the same but aimed at different sectors of the market. The ingredients look identical.
A friend did the switch with no adverse affects at all. We used Aptamil for #1 and will definitely use C&G for #2 if I don't succeed at bf'ing. £2 a pop really adds up.

We changed from sma to aptimal comfort and just did a straight switch. Their poo may change colour as they got used to it and when I took E in with constipation the first thing they asked was if I'd changed formula so I'd guess just watch for that. Two weeks or at least a full tub of formula we were told you need to get them used to it. E never has had a problem even between normal and comfort which smells lots different etc.
Cow and gate and aptimal are apparently made by the same people. So I'd imagine are pretty similar. So that maybe a good swap.

We did a straight swap from Aptamil to Cow & Gate for exactly the same reason you have highlighted! The packaging and maker is the same and H studied the ingredients and found no difference.
E didn't bat an eyelid x

I swapped with no affect. I used apt amok with my first and this time went from sma to cow and gate. I find c&g been the best so far
