Hi all... So it is my little mabex christening next weekend.. Some friends have asked me if there is anything specific they could get him.
i know that family members have got him keepsake type presents (bible, st Christopher etc)
i just wondered if there were any gifts you got that you really loved or found useful.

We were given a wooden keepsake box with a church on and had 'Oliver's Christening' engraved, it's my favourite present and I've put all of his Christening bits and bobs in. My mum bought him a silver bangle. Then we mainly had toys (traditional type ones - wooden train set etc) or more personal gifts.

That box sounds lovely.. Love the idea of wooden toys too...

Our favourite gifts were nice, hardback copies of classic children's books that people had written a message inside. We've since bought things like the Wind in the Willows and some Roald Dahl books as christening gifts and written a message and the date in and they've been very well received. I know the baby can't use them yet but they'll last for years to come!

We also second nice hardback fairy tale story books. I also loved the Swarovski crystal bear Hs godfather bought him and engraved minature tankard.
Otherwise what about some first edition coins for 2013 or stamps as they make great keepsakes of the year and are not too expensive for people buying gifts.
