B's welcome to the world party is on Sunday. I'm trying to work out what gift we can get him. did you get something for your children if they had a naming day/christening? any ideas?

For Isobelle's naming ceremony instead of asking for gifts we asked if people could provide something to go in a time capsule for her to be opened on her 18th birthday. Of the gifts that I know of we had a lot of Olympic & Jubliee memorabilia. We also asked people to say a message for her on a video (I'm upset that we didn't film anything for her at the time). I've put in my wedding jewellery for her.
I've got my H a miniure pewter tankard (well child sized) with his name and christening date on. My mum has bought him a pewter Winnie the Pooh cup and a china plate and bowl. All things he can keep forever really. My ILs are getting him a bible (appreciate this is religious)
Never crossed my mind not to get him something tbh.
Ours is Sunday as well :)

Thanks LittleMonkey, wanted I didn't want was to be given 'nice ornate' gifts that were pointless & would just sit on a shelf like a box to keep a 1st curl in & a box to keep her birth certificate in & things like that. Not really my sort of thing. I bought my niece a silver set of engraved cutlery for her christening as I wanted to give her something that she'd use
