I'm prepared for the bucket to smell when I take the lid off, but recently, whenever the fluff is in the washing machine the bathroom (where it is) and corridor smell of baby poo!

Normal? Anything I can do about it? Obviously can't use more detergent, but is there something else I could put in to mask the smell?

    Do you rinse?

    yes, this.

I rinse, wash at 40 or 60, rinse and then spin. I've not had any smells.

Same as marmite. We cold rinse, wash at 60 then another cold rinse. Occasionally I put a scoop of soda crystals in with the nappy wash to help with smells and stuff.

Bexy, I have some lavender oil, do you put it in the washing machine or the bucket?

And ladies, by rinse do you mean do a rinse cycle in the actual washing machine? Not rinse by hand? (sorry am a MINOS today!) Will get H to buy some soda crystals too, thank you.

We rinse then wash at 40 (or 60 if its with towels).

Ours smelt funny the other week and we just put one of those washing machine cleaner things through the wash.

I do a cold wash (rinse) first as it stops te hot water baking the poo which sound like what might be happening. Then a normal 40 or occasional 60 wash (half amount of usual detergents) with super rinse at end

Baking in the poo, onto the nappy! You know, a hot wash'll get it right in there but a cold rinse first gets rid ;)
