Just a pondering, if your little one had colic how old were they when they grew out of it?

C had it from around 6 weeks old, she didnt grow out of it, I changed her formula feed. Very very last resort, this was after infacol, colief, baby massage was still not working at 13 weeks. She was having colic every day for around 3 hours straight. It was awful, since the change she has had one episode of colic (about 3 days after change) which lasted half an hour and has had none since. She is now 15 weeks and a lot happier and more settled x

I don't think disco had colic (more silent reflux issues) but when I read about it I remember it said 3 months for most but up to 6 months.

Thanks both. A is 14 weeks so I thought she'd be outgrowing it by now if it were colic but I wasn't sure! We're back at the docs this morning to discuss all her issues so we shall see what they say!

MamaD I think the 3 months is just a guide line to be honest like all the baby developental things it could be less time could be more, Discos reflux was massivly improved between 3 and 4 months which is the age often given for growing out of reflux as well as colic but some people I know had a colicy baby and it took to 6 months for them to have fully out grown it all though the period shear misery the discomfort cause did ease off as little one got bigger.
It is horrible when they are in pain and you can't just fix it, I hope things start improving for you all soon

Thanks drifter, I just didn't think it possible to have a cmpi, reflux and colic all in one baby! The poor thing! I bet you were so relieved when disco baby grew out of it! I just keep telling myself that it'll all be better by the time she's 1, even if I'm grey by then! x

So relieved but it took me ages to realise that I didnt have a sobbing baby every afternoon and that we no onger had to be upright for ages after a feed. because the change was gradual and i prob carried on some habits for longer than was needed.
I found it all much easier once I stopped comapring disco to similar aged babies and started going with the flow doing what worked for us made the days much easier but that is the luck of disco being baby number one so having no one else o worry about.

Thanks LM! She's 14 weeks today so let's hope if it is colic causing this screaming at night she'll start growing out of it!
