I am completely lost with the whole TTC.

I stopped taking the pill 03/03/11 and came on 07/03/11. I'm usually regular so stop taking the pill then four days later come on. Would that mean I have a 25 day cycle??

I'm usually on for 5/6 days but usually would start taking the pill again by day 3 of my period (7 day rest).

I'm trying to work out when I would be able to test. I have an app on my iphone that say's I should be ovulating now.

Can you also give me a little run down of the abbreviations please? So new to this!

I think when you first come off the pill your first period is a 'fake' one. Meaning it is prompted by the sudden removal of the chemicals in your pill from your system. You really need to start counting the first day of your period as cycle day one, and then keep counting until come on again. The first day of your period is always Cycle Day 1. The days inbetween your periods will give you your cycle length. The average is 28 days, but everyone is different and you might find that the pill has affected your cycle length. It is impossible to tell what your natural cycle length will be at this point, so really need to wait until you get your next period. However, as a general rule of thumb, you are most fertile from days 10-18 of your cycle, so if you are trying to get pregnant, er, get busy! Because you have come off the pill so recently, you should wait until you have gone 30 days from your last period before you test. The chances are you will either have another period before that time (boo!), or you will have left it long enough to possibly get a positive result on a test (BFP= Big fat positive, BFN = Big fat negative). If you do not have either a period or a positive test after thirty days then I am afraid you will just have to wait it out, your body can take a while to get back to its natural rhythm after being on the pill. According to your dates I would put you on Cycle Day 14 (CD14) so you have 2 weeks and 2 days to wait until you can test. If you follow an average cycle, you should be at your most fertile today, so get baby dancing!! (often abreviated to BDing, but im sure you can work out what that one means!!) Good luck!

Thanks so much for your reply Glitterbug, it's really helped.

I thought possibly two weeks but I think it would be highly unlikely to fall pregnant straight away so will have to be patient.

yep, glitterbug is right. the first day of your period is cylce day one. however your first cycle off the pill is a little tricky to count becauase your period isnt really a period.
i came off the pill after 10 years end of sept and had one normal cycle where we used condoms as i was still getting vaccines for an upcoming holiday. we threw away the condoms then but didnt really pay attention to ovulation or anything as we wanted to try the 'lets just see what happens' method. well, we conceived that first month of unprotected sex. so while it may well take a while to get pregnant, it is possible to conceive quickly after the pill as well. everybody is different.
    good luck! xx

I have nothing to add to what the others said:
Just wanted to suggest that you perhaps have a look at the "Trying for a baby" forum as there are loads of people in the same situation and it helped me keep my PMA whilst trying.

    xx Good luck
