hey everyone! i have got 3x sleeping bags for the baby, one 3-6mths (3.o tog), one 0-6 mths (0.5 tog) and one 0-6mths (1.0 tog). we have a very warm house even when heating not on so chose the lower togs to reflect this as baby due 10th august. what i am confused about is i keep seeing conflicting advice about when i can start using sleeping bags, some websites say "not for the first few weeks" some say "suitable from birth onwards" and one said "not to use from newborn but can be used for babies who are 8lb or over?!?!-obviously some babies are born this weight and above!!
has anyone got any advice/opinions on this-i would really appreciate it!

i think my grobag said from 8lbs and to make sure your lo can't slip there head trough the neck hole. To be honest before i had pippa i didn't like the idea of them but after many broken nights due to her kicking the covers of at 3am i bought one, and now wouldn't go back, so didn't start using them till she was 4 weeks. I'd go with whatever it says on the instructions for your bag

Hon it's such a confusing topic and one that is open to so many opnions. I have friends who swear by them and some who swear by swaddling. I have decied to buy a couple of swaddling blankets and 2 grobags to start off with and see what baby prefers. if baby is tiny then I think i'll swaddle to start with as like girlinleeds said it would be worrying if they could wiggle down into it but i'm sure after a few nights you would be able to work out which suits then you could go and purchase either more swaddling or more grobags depending on what baby prefers.
    Sorry not much help!
