have used my Connecta for the first time this week and love it however it feels quite tight under my baby's knees where the fabric is. I pull the straps fairly tightly as he feels more secure that way but I don't want to hurt his legs. Does it sound like I'm wearing it wrong?

Are you using the strap to narrow the seat?

Thanks for replying. Will try to get a pic in a bit. I initially was using the strap Margot but H is 11 weeks now so didn't use today but I suppose I may still need to?

here's a pic of H carrying him. Are his legs in the wrong position?

i would say his knees need to be a bit higher Did you put the sling on around your waist upside down (so that the sling is hanging down to the floor and the pattern side facing your legs? then you sort of fold it up between the babies legs - difficult to describe!) Are you wearing it over your coat? i've always founf it easier and more comfortbable to put it on, baby in then coat over the top.

Yeah that's how we put it on Goldfish - not worked out another way yet! My H is carrying him in the pic and it is over his coat but the other day I carried him under my coat and when I changed his nappy the backs of his legs were quite pink. How would I get him higher? By using the smaller strap?

you basically need to just hold him higher with your arm under his bum then tighten the straps - i have to sort of jiggle R to get him as high as possible. his knees should be level with his hips really. when you first put it on the strap round your middle should be really high - almost under your boobs as it will then shift lower but not too low.

Ah right ok. We found the instructions that came with it quite tricky to follow. Thanks for the tips - will test it out later!

Have a look at videos on YouTube as well. I found them really helpful x

He needs to be knee to knee. I don't have that type of connecta, so can't help much, but I tend to hold S on my tummy with her legs around it, hold her bum with one hand and pull the carrier up with the other, then jiggle a bit to get it comfy. Is there are sling meeting you could go to? Someone could demo for you. X

Does this look any better?
15/11/2013 at 21:40
That looks much better. He does look a bit wonky, but it could be the camera angle. Does it feel better to wear? X

No he was wonky! Was only a quick test though so hopefully tomorrow I'll get it right. Thanks again for the tips

Just pull him up a bit more on his left and you're sorted. Happy wearing! X

Can I jump on this thread and ask a question about my connecta?
A is 9 months old and always seems to be really high up in the connecta - his head seems really high above the back of it? and almost level with my nose? Is that too high?
