Did you LO really like them? Just having a look on line and as ever they seem to range from bargain to crazy money! Are there any specific features you would recommend? They all seem to play a couple of tunes and I prefer the soft toy ones I think to plastic but I noticed some do light displays and all sorts, good extras or waste of money?

I have a wind up one which I put on when I put him in the crib at night but find it distracts him during the day when he can see the toys and actually puts him off sleeping. I wouldn't get a wind up one, the music doesn't last very long before it needs rewinding.

We have a Tiny Love one. It's a battery operated one and so much better than the wind up soft toy ones imo. We had a wind up first time round cos it matched our nursery range but it was dull for the baby to look at. The tiny love one has lots of bright colours and a black and white pattern on it too which newborns like. It was £30 but money well spent. Baby 2 and 3 loved it

We can't use one as it stimulates him too much and then getting him to sleep is impossible. I had a wind up one first but it was pointless having to wind it constantly and then got one with lights, stars and music. He does like to watch it but its full on playtime then so it's been removed.

My E has had one since birth. I've never used it, and it's only now she's standing and can get to it heigh wise, that's she's noticed it. She just climbs up to it, pulls it. On this basis I wouldn't buy again, I've had to take it away as it's dangerous. It is IMO just one of those things that looks pretty!

We have the fp precious planets one. It has a remote and also you cna take toys off and use solely as a projector.

I can't recommend out Tiny Love one enough. In fact, it is so good we had to buy a new one for Orla as Zoe (4.5 yrs) still uses the music part of it to get to sleep at night. It doesn't match the nursery but tbh I don't care as both children have happily laid watching it for 20mins or so.

Yeah that's the one we have too JB, S will happily lie and watch it while I get a shower or tidy up etc

Thank you everyone for replying. I did read them all but keep getting logged out on my phone so could never reply. I'm going to go for one of the projector ones too I think!

the one over her cot we have never used, as it would keep her awake, but we have the tiny love take along mobile www.amazon.co.uk/.../ref=sr_1_1 which was attached to her car seat handle and is brilliant, kept her entertained on journeys all the time, plus the little arm it comes with is really useful for lots of other things. The music it plasys is classical and not 'tinny' sounding and annoying like some x

We had a FP rainforest one for A. She was never really fussed with it. I didn't put it on the cot for L. He was never in there long enough. I probably won't bother with one for this baby either.

This is a brilliant deal but I'd be quick cos the price will no doubt go up soon

We have a projector that is part of Ws monitor. We had a mobile once, but it fell into the crib beside him and I refused to put another one up.

Another one here who rates the tiny love one. We have a battery operated one. It plays lovely relaxing tunes and my little one loves watching the cuddly mobile toys go round.

Rkb - how did it fasten? Im not a fan of the wind up ones as they seem to fasten by screwing bits but the fisher price one was a clip that was a bugger to get done so no chance of it falling off x
