I have felt so hot and uncomfortable all day, and I'm not sure if that's the cause, but baby hasn't moved much all day. He's normally a right wriggler. I've certainly had 10 movements in 12 hours, but I would usually get 10 in an hour! Even after ice poles and feet up etc... not a lot happening. Our hospital is an hour drive away so don't want to shlep there unnecessarily on a Sunday evening, but likewise not sure whether I ought to think about going for some monitoring. Thoughts?

If it's out of the norm id alway be tempted to ring and see what they say. Imo you asking here means your a teeny bit worried and mothers instinct is incredible. I'm sure baby is jus playing you up but won't do any harm to get checked.

My movements have slowed down a lot now but I've put it down to him just running out of space. I still get a lot of movement but no where near what I was getting a couple of weeks ago.
If you are at all worried just give them a call!

I've noticed less movements this weekend, enough for me not to worry but few enough to make me realise.
Are you keeping well hydrated?

Movements have definitely reduced here. I actually went in for monitoring last weekend as I was worried but all was fine. The midwife told me that around 37 weeks then movements do change as they have much less room but they woulda rather monitor someone just in case.

My movements haven't been as noticeable but I've been busy and might not be noticing. I did look out my notes ready to phone and since then baby has gone into overdrive. monkey x

Thanks for the replies all. Reassuring to hear others have experienced the same. He's been having a good wriggle over the past half hour or so, I hadn't drunk much today and wonder if that didn't help. Will keep an eye and see how he is tomorrow.

Definitely won't help if you are dehydrated. Hope all is back to normal today.
