Yesterday we were out at my H's cousins & I (nearly 15 months) was unusually tearful & was running a bit of a temp (39.1) we gave her calpol & a few hpours later she was herself again. She was also quite teary on Sat night but I put that 1 down to tiredness. Well this morning she woke up really screaming at 4.30am (she usually cries when she wakes but stops as soon as she sees me) I bf her in bed with me then put her back in her cot at 5.15 & she was awake again at 6. She has felt a little warm today but no temp. This afternoon she really fought her afternoon nap & really cried again & I ended up rocking & singing her to sleep after 40 mins. She slept for 1 hour (she usually sleeps a bit longer) & was really screaming, bordering on hysterical & no cuddling helped. I put her back on my breast (she rarely feeds during the day anymore) & she fed & dozed but any time I tried to take her off the breast she started crying again. In the end she fed/slept for more than 1 hour & a half & when I finally managed to get her off the boob she then fell asleep for another half hour, still a little upset when I woke her (as it was 5.30). She was then fine. I'm guessing this is linked to teething but I can't feel any teeth under the surface.
Are there any growth spurts around this time or any other suggestions?

P has been very similar to this recently and i think she has some molars working their way to the surface. She's been on and off like it for a few weeks, goes days absolutely fine and then will have days where she suddenly gets very upset too. Calpol helps a lot when she gets upset which to me says it's definitely pain. Hope I gets through this patch quickly.

Thanks AR, I realise that I waffled a bit in my op. Sorry to here that P is like this too. I did think it might be molars but she's only got 6 teeth at the mo so I wondered if others will come through before the molars. It's just not nice to see your smiley toddler so upset

I know it's awful when they are sad. P will be all giggly and lovely and then suddenly get hysterical. I looked up about molars and apparently the first set can come before others, P only has 6 too but molars often come before the incisors it would seem.

Hopefully the molars will come through quickly then for I & P x
