We've been using bottles for weeks so I should probably have found this out yonks ago, but when sterilising, is it bad to leave stuff in the steriliser when not using? We use it for bottles and breast pump 2/3 times a day roughly, to give Sam his gaviscon, so I change the cold water steriliser every day, and put the stuff that's in there, back in there. Is it bad for the bottles / pump to remain in there most of the time? My thinking has always been that if I take them out after they've been sterilised, they won't be sterile anymore, but I've noticed the teets are starting to change colour, and wondered if I'm damaging them? I especially don't want to damage the breast pump as it was so bloody expensive!
Thanks and hope that makes sense!

I did it last time and doing it again now. Yes the teats go kind of cloudy but it never caused any problems

Thanks JB, yes that's it, they've gone cloudy. Good to know I can keep stuff in there ticking over, much tidier too!

We always kept them in there when we did cold water sterilising until used. I think we had a quick turnaround though as formula feeding so I didn't really notice the cloudiness so much.
