Not expecting, yet, but thought this might be an interesting post? (Sorry if not!). When did you do the nursery for your expected child? If you didn't know the gender, did you wait, or just do a neutral themed nursery? :)

We didn't really. We decorated all our bedrooms only 6 months before falling pregnant, they're all neutral and the same. I just put up some neutral jungle themed curtains and canvases, we knew we were having a boy but didn't want to make it too boyish as knew we wanted another at some point and as it turns out #2 is a girl so just as well!
I'd always be very weary of going too blue or pink before baby is born, scans can be wrong! Also, it's advised baby sleeps in your room until 6 months so the nursery was only used to store nappies and clothes for a while.

We've done ours but H did spend a lot of time moaning that he was doing a room up that wouldn't really be used for 6 months (usually these moans coincided with putting together a complicated piece of flat packed furniture...).
It was the only room in the house that hadn't been decorated since we moved in and was really awful so it was a good excuse to get our bums in to gear and do it though.
We don't know the sex of our baby and I don't think we'd have gone particularly pink/blue even if we did. We went for light green walls, neutral carpet and white curtains with coloured clouds on them, so suits either way.

We did a neutral (Mamas and Papas, Millie & Boris) nursery for #1, decorated around 30 weeks. We didn't know the flavour. When he arrived it became a boys room quickly as soon as his toys appeared!
Kept it the same but jiggled the furniture for #2 (again didn't know the flavour), then when she was born we added purple accents as she's a girl (purple curtains, purple blankets etc)

Baby will be in with us for a while so we're not going to bother yet. We've most of the whole house to sort (only done 2 rooms so far) and are thinking of putting baby in the smallest bedroom which can be done in a day. Plan to keep it neutral because I'd like to try ASAP for another so gender-neutral is a must.

We are doing ours at 29 weeks, purely as it coincides with a weeks holiday we have booked! I know the baby won't be in it for the first 6 months but I'm looking forward to having a room and the furniture up to put away all the baby stuff and have it all in its proper place. Plus I didn't fancy having to decorate it once the baby is here, it's something we can get out of the way beforehand. We're painting the room cream and the 'decoration' will be wall decals and the bedding etc, its all very neutral but with some bright colour to liven it up a bit. I didn't want a pink or blue room anyway, I really want quite a neutral baby nursery.

We know what furniture we want and once we know the gender I'll start to look for fabrics to make it all pretty. We've chosen white furniture, and the plan is to leave the cot in the loft for the first 6 months so we have space to have a chair in the nursery so I can go and feed away from H if we're disturbing him. The whole house is less than a year old so we don't need to decorate, we'll just leave the walls as they are and use the soft furnishings to give it some personality. My mum makes curtains etc so I will be choosing gender specific fabrics, as it will be very easy and cheap to replace if we have the opposite gender in the future.
I think I'd like to start it around 25 weeks, I want to sit and enjoy it for as long as I can! That way it will also stop us using it as a dumping ground and should keep it nice.

I never had a nursery for my son so I really want one this time, we'll be using the spare room which really needs sorting anyway including rebuilding some cupboards. Anything we put in there will be removable if it is gender specific ie curtains so I will probably go a bit girls mad but I love links, purples and flowers! Once the cupboard is sorted I'll be doing it in dribs and drabs over the next few months. Our bedroom is tiny so we'll be using it from day one for the babies clothes, changing etc and I'm putting a chair in there so if we have any bad nights I can sit there instead of disturbing H.

We arent really decorating it. We were going to get a wall sticker but we bought a new rug with bright funky colours and the sticker we had our mind on really wouldnt go.
Think we are going to get a couple of prints to frame, no idea when we (it will totally be me!) get around to it!

I've got a Pinterest board with loads of lovely non-baby-but-cute things I want to make or put up. I bet I don't bother with any of it.

Pretty much as others have said. We moved in and decorated a year ago and the room we will use as the nursery is cream. I have an off white wardrobe in there already and have just bought a chest of drawers to match. Yesterday we put up a blackout blind and some multi coloured striped curtains, gender neutral even though we are having a boy. I've bought wall decals in similar colours to the curtains. We bought an ikea poang rocking chair in a minky colour which we'll use elsewhere after. Cushions and pictures etc will add colour and interest. I wanted the room to be calming as there's plenty of years where it can be a little boys room.

I excoriated a 20 weeks, it was a room we'd not done since moving in, and was lumo green and yellow. :-/. We did it in a neutral cream despite knowing we were having a boy, I'd like to be able to reuse for number 2.

I papered the room at seven months pregnant. I had wanted it done sooner but got let down by a couple of decorators so just did it myself. The changing table is in there and I bath him on the floor and store toys etc where the cot will be. Not sure where the toys will go then!

Thought I would start a flash. Not sure why it is sideways!

We only live in a one bedroom place, so no nursery to decorate. My husband bought our first baby item yesterday so 29 weeks.

It was painited a few weeks ago. Just got to put the curtains and bunting up and find a light shade (why is this proving so hard) The room needed decorating anyway so went the whole hog with flooring and my brother in law stripped it, lined it and painted it for free. He is a painter/decorator and he wanted to do it :-)
